hey all

 

back working on my zed when this heat lets up (o for an air con in the shed :-), maybe i should move zed into my room!

 

anyway, zed is ready for exhaust and registration (basically) but i need to get my brakes and clutch right first.

all hooked up...have taken brakes apart a couple of times, lengthened the rod in the master, had master reco'd, and adjusted all the pedals......now I'm hoping I've just bled them badly or used bad fluid because I still can't get a good pedal, they work but (esp. initially) the pedal can be pushed to the floor.

 

I can also hear something moving around when I'm bleeding rear brakes, would that just be air? there are no leaks in the system that i can find.....but i did have pipes plated (bad move but too late, 40% brand new anyway (unplated))

 

having great dun driving it up and down driveway tho :-)

 

any help would be appreciated.

If your having to 'pump' the brake pedal to get any brake effect there must still be air in the system.

some times if you get a bad air lock in your hydrolic system it can help to reverse pressure bleed the system. An easy way to do this at home is to get an old winsceen washer pump zip tie some small hose to the inlet and outlet put the inlet hose in your bottle of clean brake fluid and the outlet to your bleed nipple after cracking it.

Be sure to remove your resovur cap and most of the fluid in it or you will make a big mess and stuff your paint.

Start from the caliper furthest away from the master cyl hook it up to a batery and away you go.

the fuid will destoy the pump after a week or so but this method has got me out of a few jams I hope it helps you

Not sure what it is from,I had it given to me it had been screwed to the front of a 1200 ute it may be a center wheel trim from a 280
