Harmonic Balancers

Hi all,

Just wondering for those using ATI balancers is there a preference or why choose the 7.074” (2.5kg) vs 6.325” (1.8kg).  Obviously a larger rotational force for the larger one.

Engine it would be going on:

L28

L24 rods

Flat top pistons

 76 degree cam

Triple Webers

cheers for any help and suggestions

Jason

Do you have to have an ATI balancer 'balanced' before fitting?

No.

Also the v-belt pully is sooo small, will I have to get a different v-belt??

Do you mean the OD of the pully is small or the V-groove is narrow?

OD of pully is tiny, compared to original

If you spend a lot of time in low RPM ranges, you might have a problem with the alternator charging.
Stew Wilkins sells an larger pully/hub adaptor to rectify this issue.

I think I will just sell it if anyone is after one at a good price.
