WTB Front Strut Inserts for 260Z

Does anyone have any decent front shock inserts to suit a 260Z for sale? Cheers

Be sure to check the length you need - early 260Zs use the taller front strut a la 240Z, whereas later ones - probably most - have the shorter strut.

Thanks mate, it’s a 1976 2+2 with 55mm struts, there’s a lot of conflicting info on the net about which to use.

Very true. From what I've found many suppliers are unaware of the variations across the S30 models. What they offer for a 260Z may suit a 2+2 but not a 2-seater, or an earlier car but not a later one, or vice versa, etc.

C.A.R. is sure to know what you need and what's currently available and of what quality.

What is in your front struts currently, still the original shocks or a pair of ageing strut inserts?

Yes I’ll definitely be ringing C.A.R. for some expert help. The current inserts are unlabelled other than made in USA and are a dark green colour, I’m guessing they are Gabriel. Cheers

For the record I replaced both front and rear struts in my 75 2+2 with 55mm front struts with KYB ExcelG inserts and here are the part numbers I used

Paired with a set of Kings low springs and poly bushes throughout, I am very happy with the handling of my bus now

M.S.A. have Koni and KYB.

I have Koni Yellow in mine all round and standard King springs set at  full soft for road use. Purchased from M.S.A.
