Hi, i just bought a 240z fairlady and was looking at bits on the net when i found this site for australia. my 240 is not in the best of conditions (body is straight, engine runs well enough, although it is starting to rust) i would like to fully restore it over time. i was thinking of putting an L28ET in it. anyones ideas and/or opinions are welcome.

Hey Thorn, nice car it has lots of potential!

L28ET would be very fast! You should check out the engine section of the forums and search L28ET.

KEEP THE FLAMES ! That is awesome.

If it were mine :

1. New front bumper ( no overiders Gotta get rid of them on mine aswell. ) Smoothed off and possibly body colour ? ( Radiator area coloured in black so you got that whole I'm gonna eat your children front end.

2. Turbo. Turbo . Turbo. ... yep . Dont bother with triples . Sound great and go great but in traffic are harsh little bastids. ( If you are not a daily driver then triples. But daily driver ... might as well tow a fuel bowser around behind your car ! )

3. Rota RBR's 17 inch for that clean classic look. Or depending on the colour you respray it or whatever some of them volk time attackery things.

4. go classic black interior. Makes you feel like you are in a cocoon, and it hides the oil stains.

5. Shave the arse end. No bumpers and no holes at all. Rev has done it to his arse ( the car,i dont know if he shaves his arse or not... and i dont want to ) and i done it and it makes the car look really different as you have the tight roll back into the exhaust area. If that makes sense. But remember you dont have bumpers.

6. debadge the car. And if you can get those rear quarter vents filled as well do that.

And there we go. One thing I would counsel is if you are going L28ET go for it dont build a half measure and then decide later to do it. Like ... me  :(

Sorry in an odd mood. You probably didnt ask for what I would do or anyone else but your car has massive potential.

lol, I love that explanation.  Exactly the look I was going for with my front end.
