Hello everyone,

The wife an I have finally decided to put her 260 on the road.  We bought the car of a pilot in Canberra for $3000 who thought is was one of the last 260's 2+2 sold in oz.  Spent last 5 years playing on her and now have only suspension left to go.......We kept her fully original, down wheel caps (had trouble getting tidy ones).  The wife insisted on a change of colour to royal glow 1977 Datsun colour (which mean PINK to everyone else).

Anyway looking forward to chatting to the Z community

cheers

Welcome!  It will be great to see pics when your done! Out of curiousity, it would be good to see what chassis number it is. Late 260's are in the 15,000+ range in numbers. A 77 model I had was 15,036. Its not a "PINK" pink is it? hehehe

There were a couple of interesting colors in the last of the Zeds but I don't remember pink maybe champagne silver color?

Hi again

You are right the Royal glow is from a 1200cc dato not a 260Z, so not fully original :P.  I will check the serial no. tonight. and put up some pics too.

Also does anyone know where to get replacement bushes for the rear end of a 260? So far I have only been able to get SuperPro brand for the front but nothing for the control ams in the arse.  When I go from reverse to 1st there is a slight clunk in the rear????

Hello Chris

She now lives in cold old Armidale NSW, so North.........From cold too more cold. Pics coming after a polish ;D

Also found energy suspension (master kit) so think OK on rear suspension

cheers

Depending on the clunking noise, it might be a rear driveshaft/prop shaft uni joint. Sometimes its more of a clicking noise. Or could be diff mount etc...

OK, here are her specs

sold 15/06/78

built 08/77

GRS30020264 .............. so she could be one of the last sold that is still on the road??

Lucky we got all the documentation she was sold with
