Hi,

not sure which forum for this so went in general, as not sure if I'll 'resto' it or just drive it LOL

I'm new here but I have a 77 260Z stored for 13 years.

The paint is stuffed but original. It was Metalic green.

It was owned by a guy who only lived a few klms from his work and it is supposed to be a genuine 56k klms but can't prove it. (he had no reason to lie really so I'm hoping it's true)

Stuff all rust, but a little in lower 1/4's etc but floors are great.

It has factory Air con and electric sunroof that works and doesn't leak.

I am in process of cleaning it up, and the clutch slave/rear brakes cyl are stuffed (parts supplied so I am working on that) but I am also waiting on a new electric fuel pump as mine is kaput. (I cleaned out tank and very clean. ) Had it running with floats full but pump stuffed.

I have a mate already nagging me to sell it to him, but survivor style cars (or any good zeds) are getting expensive.

Also scored some cool PPQ plates with car........260ZD

Now to get cleaning....oh and I need a few parts.......air filter, gear know, stock steering wheel, door mirrors......ratty ones OK.

Interesting. Looks like it has been upgraded to British 2" carbs. I wonder if the gearbox has been changed or if just the grip has been changed.

This would be a keeper.

Nice :) . I have the same model and year, different colour. That pollution gear!!..lol...I have vague memories of mine looking like that.

Looks like the carbs were running round pod style air filter?. Doubt the original air filter would fit anymore, not without adapting.

Ah yeah good point on carbs.....was there flat top and round top options? or do you think they are aftermarket? I have to get under her in next few weeks to change the clutch cylinder so will take pics and post them up.

Hi Linus,

Yes. I did the conversion in 2004 but have all the original parts if I ever want to convert it or sell complete. Still sitting in the shed waiting for the FiTech EFI to be finished at the moment. Too many projects and not enough time to complete any of them. Yesterday I did a bit of work on the new engine, aligning the Isihara up and down crank scapers.

As for your car though. They only came with the flat top carbs. It would be interesting to know if any engine mods were done when the British 2" carbs were fitted.. I have a couple of sets. One set with a modified manifold that I bought of James Flett a couple of years ago. He used to have them on a race car. They do look good.

Cheers
