Yeh well Jason's L28 was fuel injected and I'd bet that with proper development it would have pushed out better power. But hardly relevant when talking  carby comparisons.

Bumping a dead thread and adding to the string theory, but I've a bone stock 72 240Z, e88, Hitachi SUs and it's like hitting a wall at 4500rpm. 5hrs of diag into it we're chasing rabbits, and I'm eyeing a set of 40MM (genuine) Mikuni 3x2s that I found online but I know most people prefer the 44s (hence why they're 1.5x the cost of the 40s) and most Weber/clones are 45mm.

But, all things being equal, for an L24 with stock cam, headers, exhaust, at 5280+ft elevation (Denver, CO) would the 40s be enough for spirited canyon runs and the occasional track days?

Or should I pass on the Mikuni 40s and get 45 Redline Webers instead so I'd have more "room" should I go big cam later?

40s will help and you can always sell them later if you go with a bigger cam and need 44s.

What ignition do you have on your Z? Electronic or points?
