How Tight Should Distributor Vacuum Advance Hoses Be ?

Question

Posted

A quick one that I haven't found an answer for through google.  How tight should the fit be for dizzy vacuum advance hoses ?  I was surprised that they slipped off relatively easily compared to say a heater hose or similar which are very tight, and thought maybe they need replacing but given I am still learning a lot of this I thought I'd better check !

As Cozza says,

They don't need to tight, just firm enough that they don't leak or fall off.

You should be able to remove them with a gentle pull, no need for pliers.

Cheers

Thanks gents.  I'll spray some carb cleaner to check leaks.  Appreciated!
