Hello,

Finishing sorting out the electrics, rebuilt the combo switch as per thread. Mega happy, even the little flash button on the stalk works !!!

But a dog's inside the centre console that I haven't worked out how to connect

So upon consulting the manual, that's lue

what I have

The L/LR/LW is the antenna switch

THe W/WB/B is the radio speaker/power combo switch (the blue i think is keyed to the accesories position

RL/B/RB - I think this is the demister switch, but the manual only shows only RL/B [ does it depend whether there's a accesorries relay?)

G/G - no idea ( could be choke light, or fog light)

R/BW/B - cig lighter?

Does anyone know where to get those flat, 3 blade connectors from ?

Tried Jay car, no luck

Thanks in advance

yes. the jaydee guy had the plugs. so ordered these and will start wiring up

have bought a generic switch for the antenna up/down so will try to get that going

also putting in an additional speaker on the RH side, in the original location

does ANYONE have choke light and foglights in their '71?

AU delivered cars didn't have these features.

The center console on an early AU market S30Z had the blanking plates for the parker light toggle switches and the rear glass defrost switch, but we didn't get them as standard. You would need to look on eBay US for the defrost glass switch and in Japan for the parker switches.

Fog lamp switches were located on the dashboard where the hazard switch goes. But fog lamps (and the corresponding switches) are extremely (as in rocking horse shit) rare.

I would like to wire all these up however someday. :D

If you mean this type -

have a look here - http://vintageconnections.com

US$2.25 + postage

It's a good website isn't it? I'm tempted to order a kit like that. Although I told myself I'm not going to rebuild my wiring loom (I said I'll pay someone) because it looks intimidating and very time consuming..

Also just found this which looks very helpful.

yes, that's the guy. i think its called molex connector. i bought heaps of supplies of the vintage guy and did the harness resto myself. these are just the last bits left to do.

my console has the blanked out parker light and the demister switch, althought it doesn't look original like this one

defintely have the rear defroster on the glass, so there must be a switch

Any photos of the glass? I'm guessing it was retrofitted at a later date? Perhaps from a 260z (which did get the defrost glass here) but early 240z's didn't. I believe it was an option, but I'm yet to see an optioned early S30Z in this country that was done via the dealer.

Your defrost glass (if it's a 71) should be the vertical type. Not the horizontal type.

good point, mine is a ser2 thou, so don;t know if that makes  a difference

i just need a switch that lights up for the RWC. i'm pretty sure they don;t check the demister

i'm not sure the it even works
