Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone has the following

  • Chrome weather strips (runs along the roof water channel on the side of the car)
  • Chrome windscreen strips
  • Dash vent plastic cover (the plastic bit between the dash and the winscreen)
  • Door cards

I can be contacted on 0411 328 520

Thanks
Sam

For 240 or 260? Which do you have? The door cards are quite different designs, with different armrests etc.

The windscreen strips are stainless steel not chrome. The front set is the same for 240, 260 & 2+2. So try the ads on Gumtree etc for cars being parted out.

By 'dash vent plastic cover' do you mean the full width filler panel between dash & windscreen? Mine is black painted metal not plastic.

Hi gilltech,

Thank you for the info.

Being a newbie, I have a big learning curve ahead of me.

I have the 260z (2 seater) version.

Car didn't come with much of the interior, so trying to peice it all together.

The dash peice i'm after look something like this.

Every Z being parted out will have one of those finisher panels. However, the satin black paint is very thin and the panels are prone to rust. So find a good one but you may need to restore it. They have an imprinted texture in the metal.

What year is your car? Nissan made several running changes to 260Z doors including relocating the winder and lock pull locations, which likewise affected the door cards. So you'll need to be careful to find the right ones that match your car. The 240Z cards are a less ornate design and the door pulls are different. Maybe they could be adapted to suit your particular 260. Certainly the door pulls are different so even if the 240 cards can be used you'll have to provide fixing points in the sheet metal to accommodate the pulls.

That was very informative.

My car is also a '74 2-seater which I've owned for decades. I've found a great many differences between mine and the cars of subsequent years, Nissan made many running changes.

I'm in Brisbane but if you have any questions I'll see if I can help.

All depends on what state your car or project car is in?

You just have to be careful when buying parts that they will actually match or suit your particular car, don't just grab anything labelled '260Z' before checking.
