240Z Door Cards

Hi folks ... looking for 240z door cards ... fine if the cover is damaged or if there are speaker holes. I have some early 240z parts available, willing to consider swaps.

What do you need them for? My RH side (driver side) is stuffed at the bottom corner, but passenger side is good. I got another good pair of second hand ones off Gareth a while back. I was going to keep the good passenger side, but guess it depends what you want to swap for?

Hi Gav... I am going to use them as the base for my 250gto door trims ... ie cut a great big hole in the middle then retrim them in leather.

 

Possible swaps ... what are you looking for?? I have some reasonable 240z interior panels and rear quarter glass, as well as a rear screen. Plus some more valuable bits like an uncut heater console and twin choke centre console...

I'll send you some photos of what I have if I remember this weekend. It's a shame the driver side was damaged by some hamfisted numpty because they would have otherwise been in good shape for their age.

Couldn't you just make them from tempered hardboard, using the Zed card to provide the right outline? Then wrap them in vinyl.

The GTOs were race cars so their interiors were basic functional & the door panels plain flat cards.

Yes... but I want the 'hook' profile at the top to hold in place ... and my 'race car' is kinda a fake....?

Photos attached, not sure how I feel about the LH side being cut up. It's a good trim and I kind of want to keep it for my 72 (it still has the Chrome strip). I was going to try Chrome Tape to repair driver side in the 72.

 

You can see the lower left hand corner of the driver side is stuffed. The masonite backing is broken in that corner, but otherwise they were in good shape for age.

There is quite a range of fasteners you should be able to adapt in lieu of the 'hook', which would allow you to make up your own cards.

 

I've used 'screw grommets' quite a bit on my build - Supercheap have them. Just drill a hole, size it out with a square file (Bunnings) and insert the grommet. I've used stainless, dome-head self-tapers to secure the panel but again there is a huge range to select from.

 

You can leave the top inner edge (70mm or so) uncovered by the card.
