Wtb. Rb Conversion Parts

hi there 

just thought i'd ask in this section incase someone had some rb conversion parts lying around. 

at this stage im mainly after 

 

- modified sump (that doesnt leak)  OR   200zr sump

 

- rb25 engine and gearbox conversion mounts 

 

- rb20 gearbox

Bit off topic but if you are going to be using a rb25 then pay the extra and get a rb25 gearbox..
Do it once do it right.

I have a 200zr sump, a pickup and castlemain hotrod engine/gearbox mounts I could be tempted to part with as are just getting dusty. Apparently their quality control went out the window at some point, so there's a chance they don't bolt up as perfectly first shot as they should, so holes might need to be elongated or something - not sure.

Dionysus, only reason being for an rb20 box is because I'm still keeping the rb25 Na.

Rb25 turbo box imo is overkill and would rather out Money I save on the rb20 box onto something else

I reckon I found a pair of engine mounts lying around from my r & d early on, if when I made a handful of sets, when I was doing some tidy up this week, I'll check again today.

What car is it going into and what year as this plays a major role in actual fit+up.

I have pics on one of my posts/threads with an rb25 and an 30 box, for reference.

How's pics of where the shifter hole is, space from firewall to back of head, and how low I was able to get the engine to sit.

No still requires a 200zr sump. Its a 240z engine crossmember thats been modified to take skyline engine mounts

I see, fair enough..

Worth noting too, for anone who ever comes across this, the RB20, 25DE, 30DE (R31 skyline) boxes will fit in the Datsun transmisson tunnel, they can also use a modified or custom made crossmember to bolt up to the Datsun mounts.

The RB25DET box is bigger (fatter around the tail end) and will foul on the original transmission crossmember body mounts.

They need to be 'massaged' out of the way and a whole new mounting system designed.

This crossmember will save you a lot of effort, id highly reccomend getting it if you can.

Maybe also look into redrilling and reinforcing the lower control arm mount holes for a changed roll centre (if you planning on lowering it)
