Want to revive the driving simulator frame I put together for some Bathurst simulation but not using the PC and monitor used before. Forza 6 on Xbox seems OK, anyone tried that? Also I assume that any current monitor can be used or even a TV? The frame has a ~5 year old Logitech force feedback wheel and controls, would that still work with Xbox?

Stay with the PC Richard

Get a TV ,SAY 70 inch . No wait 80 inch , anything bigger is just showing off. You will need 3 of them!

Up grade your computer's graphics card ,hard disc , ram, ect .

It may require its own cooling system at this stage and need a air conditioner. That's for your comfort.

Next you need a sound system for the TV's .Say a 5.1 no a  7.1. A 9.1 is just showing off again. Get some speakers ,three way or more way it doesn't matter as long as they have 12 or 15 inch woofers, mid range and tweeters. They must stand at least 1.5 meters tall

If you can't find any ,build them . Go to J CAR they will be able to help. If you buy in lots of 10 it is cheaper that way. By now you will have something to move your house off its stumps. What you haven't got stumps. Get stumps, you have to have that realism of the house coming to an end as you exit the track like Dick Johnson did . Other than that the whole exercise will be just a waste of time.   The cost should be only be a fraction of what you have spent on that engine and trans.

I know Billzilla does a bit of driver simulating. Maybe try sending him an email?

Some interesting suggestions, thanks blokes, I think :) Not sure that what you suggest Aub would all fit in the play room lol. What's a fleshlight Jason, sounds like you have plenty of experience with them hehe. As for that tosser billzilla and his pretend world of wank and delusions of wonderfulness, nah, I'll leave him for those who don't know better ;)

Hi Richard,

I use a genuine xbox360 wheel and pedals mounted in my simulator made from mdf with a 260Z seat mounted in it. I play F1 and Forza though I don't have the latest versions of either game. I play this on a projector so the screen is approx 2.5M wide x 1.5m high - definetely helps picking turn in points etc. It is our theatre room effectively and has a fairly old 6.1 surround sound setup which does a pretty good job with the sound. All in all it works well and the wheel works well enough with the force feedback that you can feel when the car begins to slide etc. I manage to get a sweat up thats for sure. Will post some pics shortly.

Cheers Jeff

Richard I am running a Obutto Revolution cockpit with Fanatec Clubsport v2 wheel, pedal set and shifter. Running PC and some ps3. Triple 27" monitors with a fourth monitor above that for telemetry laps times tyre pressures.

Also I have a buttkicker under the seat for vibration and its a great addition.

It depends on how serious you want to get but if you want a crystal clear image 144hz monitors are best.

I frequently visit http://www.isrtv.com a great website with Darrin and John both great guys.

Graeme.
