I know it's a long shot, but anybody got any leads on a 2+2 wrecking?

I want the roof section for repair of the dreaded sunroof and other rust areas resulting from same.
PM me if you have something.

EDIT- 13/3/16  Hunt has been successful. Donor roof found along with lots of other 2+2 parts.

Is there any special tool or advice needed to remove the stainless steel trim from the roof gutter?

I don't appear to have any clips holding mine on. It just appears to clip over the gutter profile?

Advice gratefully received.

No special tools required, just a large bucket of patience so you don't damage it while removing.

When installing they twist into place & hook themselves over the steel when the respective curves are matched. Install or remove by hand or you run the risk of damaging them, they can be tough depending how much paint build-up there is on the gutters.

Ok. The odyssey has begun to replace the old Webasto sunroof. I learned a few things pulling the lining out to prepare for the repairs.

1. The rust in the channels of the sunroof was well advanced- read- shot to pieces. It was raining rust flakes when I pulled the hood lining out.

2. The resulting water leakage had caused rust further down the quarter panels. So another surprise under the quarter vent trim.

3. The hole from the Webasto is a lot bigger than I had thought> Not much of the top skin left.

4. I also learned that the recess for the hatch hinge is different on 2+2's. I have seen an early 2+2 hinge recess, mine a 77" and this donor roof (year unknown) and all three have a slightly different profile to the bit behind the hinge. Not that it makes a big difference if you are replacing it but I did find out that the rubber boots sold for 240Z/260Z hatch hinges don't fit.

I'm as nervous as hell that the panel shop will stuff up the repair. I am grateful to Paul at ZBits for selling me a donor roof. I just don't want to ruin the opportunity.

More photos as the work progresses.
