wildy55 Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Hey Has anyone managed to remove scratches from the exterior of glass? I've rub marks on the hatch glass after the previous owner thought it was a good idea to fit a louvre - from a different ( non 240- sized car...). Hopefully you can make out the marks that run vertically down the glass. Cheers Quote
Iceberg Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I am also keen to try to fins a way as my door glass is scratched. I did see a youtube video once on this but i am not convinced. I will see if i can find it. Quote
dat2kman Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 Use Jewellers Rouge. It is a very fine powder used to polsh diamnds, which are a teeny bit harder than glass. Small jars can be bought from most decent jwellers/watchmakers. Frget the shopping centre bling shops, they wont have a clue what it is. Quote
George Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I bought a kit for glass from this site: http://www.polish-up.com.au He was very helpful over the phone and service was prompt. I also purchased a bunch of wheels and bars for polishing metals. Happy with everything he supplied. I haven't tried the glass kit yet but I will need to very soon. Quote
wildy55 Posted September 17, 2015 Author Posted September 17, 2015 Cheers. Will hunt some down and give it a go. Quote
mossy Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 I tried the home kit, didn't seem to remove anything. A friend who restored his camaro had his done professionally and you can see waves in the glass now so it seems to be quite hard to do evenly. I did find a place in QLD the polishes curved automotive glass with great results from the reviews I heard but cant remember the name off the top of my head. Quote
GongZ Posted September 17, 2015 Posted September 17, 2015 There are about 20 YouTube videos on this subject. Search for 'car glass scratch' or 'windscreen scratch' Quote
