chris240 Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 Im Looking to freshen up one of my motors, has anyone had experience with the local builders ? Belconnen engine centre and Queanbeyan engine service in particular.... Or should I just go to Swm or Mia ? If, so would I need to sell my kidney to use Swm and Mia for a general street rebuild ? hmd Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Don't go to MIA, I don't want another queue jumper in front of my build Quote
CBR Jeff Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 Chris If I was going local (Canberra) I would start with Phillip Head Services. They have done a bit of work for some friends all involed with motorsport and they were happy with the outcome. One of the mates is a machinist and very fussy when it comes to this sort of stuff. They also assembled a 2.7L M series 4 banger that is still getting revved very hard in an M3 rally car. They do all the machine work on site. But saying that I am sending my engine to LCR when Les is ready. Jeff Quote
nizm0zed Posted August 18, 2015 Posted August 18, 2015 ditto on philip head services, have had several jobs done by them, always 100% Terry at QIM in Queanbeyan is pretty good too, an old guy who has been in the game a long time. Quote
chris240 Posted August 19, 2015 Author Posted August 19, 2015 Fellas, dumb question, but do PHS do "full" rebuilds and assembly including carb tunning ? Quote
CBR Jeff Posted August 19, 2015 Posted August 19, 2015 They do full re builds but don't think they do carbie work or tuning. Not sure. Give them a ring and find out 100% Quote
