Hi guys,

I know in the past there has been some interest in these, I may be able to source a couple from the US but with the cost of the item + shipping to depot + shipping to Australia + GST and other fees here + shipping to you. I can't see it being do-able under $1000 at this stage.

I would estimate a figure of $1,200 for a good second hand roof turret but will know better once I've imported at least 1.

I just wanted to get a show of interest so I know how much demand there is and whether or not this fits within budget?

I may also look at other parts like doors and hatches from dry parts of the US but need to first make sure what I'm getting isn't junk..

My only concern with doors is that they will all have some degree of rust - even if they look clean on the outside between the skin and frame you get surface rust build up. If your frames are beyond economical salvation then it makes sense to start with better doors but knowing the right type is the hard part, with 260z's in Australia I believe there might have been 3 different frames in use.

So telling an American to look for 260z doors is tricky, given they only had the 260z for 1 year and the 280z after that. New door skins are cheap at $250, importing a door will be more expensive than that.

Roof turrets are getting very rare, hence the reason I'm considering bringing some in for sale. Also the good thing about a roof skin is you can easily see both sides so it's harder to hide bog in them etc..

Anyway I might try and source at least 1-3 roof turrets if it works out well I'll import more if I can get my hands on them. If 10 people say they need 1, then I'll definitely bring in a couple - since a couple of people will always bail at the last minute etc..But I'm sure a roof skin will always be in need.

Gav. Ive been organising similar in the last few week with a guy on Hybridz who is willing to collect and accept and pack stuff for me at a fee. I have already located and sourced 5 sets of doors, just trying to work out freight.

PM me if your interested in working together on this.

Do you need the whole roof skin or just  a partial roof? If you can give me an idea I'll look at making them and let you know a price. If there's enough interest we may be able to do a run of them to keep the cost down.

I don't actually need 1 myself, I'm looking to import due to demand for them. I have a spare that could be used as a template? It's the skin itself though not the frame.

After your intro thread I didn't hear much so wasn't sure if there was any progress on reproducing panels for the S30z?

I do need a beaver panel for a 240z though..

I need a roof, so I am keen to find out what the cost will be.. Especially if it falls under the $700-800 mark...

I spoke to Wayne who said he was going to give knocking 1 up a go, but I don't think it will be under $1000 AUD at this stage. Not sure if I'll be importing any roof turrets yet, got something else on the boil but not sure how it's going to pan out yet.

Hi Richard,

I met with someone in California who may be able to help in this regard. That is the easy part. The hard part is shipping them. Currently working on sourcing some other stuff at the moment but will be looking into this soon.
