dat2kman Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Gonna need a fair bit mre info than that! Usually four cylinder Ford Escorts talk in terms of Stage 1 or 2. Quote
Kavs Posted January 20, 2015 Author Posted January 20, 2015 ? L28, Triple dellortos. want more but not rediculous ?? Quote
dat2kman Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 Have a good read of the sticky post in the Engine section on here about Camshafts A Must Read. That should give you a bit more of an idea as to what specs may or may not be suitable. A starter could be a 68-70 degree spec this could be done as a regring. For new cams Clive Cams in Melbourne can supply. For second hand, some on here may have some sitting under a bench. I have around a half dozen of various all as regrinds, i can sell you one. Quote
Retro Z Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 I got mine done by Clive cams as per dat2kmans previous advice to me. I have a 3ltr l28 with triple dellortos aswell. http://youtu.be/YLCzxZtKzM8. Here is a video of it idling. Quote

I'd be interested to see what your impressions of it are, my 72 240z has really high compression and the cam feels a bit flat as the revs climb, which could be the cam or it could be a poorly curved distributor or SU carbs needing a refresh. Both things I want to address at some point anyway. Quote
Retro Z Posted January 21, 2015 Posted January 21, 2015 No i haven't driven it yet, but it has been on a engine dyno and it made more power and torque earlier than with stock A grind cam, i'm not sure of actual specs but i think mines a 72 degree. And compression is around 10.1 with forged flat tops. I also have a recurved dizzy from performance ignitions in Nunawading. But its hard to compare as my engine has aftermarket parts and custom work compared to yours Gav. PS. my phone makes my engine sound funny. I will upload some proper videos one day. Quote
