Not a bad article but there are a few issues about the accuracy of some of it. Guess Joe Average isn't going to know.

Yeah, this is another more recent article.

Which is a bit more pragmatic about the advice given.

Along with this 1.

No rotary no care anymore :P

It's funny how it's sponsored by Nissan yet they don't advertise the 370Z there...? Ya know in the article talking about 240Zs lol.

I'd say it's due to reservation booking of that section of the SMH and just a co-incidence that there is a Nissan sponsor ad placement in an article talking about the 240z among other Japanese classics, but you're correct it would be a good opportunity to place 370z ads in there.

I saw this Bring a Trailer link earlier.

People were baulking at the price of an R100 coupe in the US, some Aussie flew in bought it and went home again haha.. I guess we value the old rotor coupe's more in Australian then in the US of A. Some interesting comments in that article all the same.

A mint original R100 coupe is uber rare! Makes me laugh that they questioned it going over 11K

Not sure if this has been posted already but unique cars site had classic sport cars under 10k, 2+2 gets a mention.

http://www.tradeuniquecars.com.au/news-reviews/2013/9/low-cost-winners-10-cars-under-$10k/

Only problem with that is these days finding a good 2+2 under 10K usually doesn't get you much. Or you get a car that looks good from far, but is far from good. Read dodgy paint work etc..

But if you're lucky you may find a car stored away with an owner not sure what to ask for it.

Rotaries are more obscure than I gave them credit for until buying the RX-7 which is a relatively mainstream one. Owning a Nissan you really get spoiled.

I can kinda see why they aren't that popular in the US too, but i think that obscurity makes them a very good potential for a collectible car.

It's funny that in terms of an investment you are still way better off buying a restored car to your taste than doing one up.
