Hi guys, looking to upgrade the diff in my 280zx. looking for a diff that can hold up to 300kw from the rb swap im doing. any factory lsd's i could use before i bite the bullet and get an lsd made?

what about a long nose r200 out of a 260z?

cheers

Current diff is r180?

If so a 260Z R200 will bolt in, may need to alter holes on rear diff mount to back of diff cover plate.

Drill or file.

If contemplating a LSD, easier to locate for r200's, one from a DR30 Skyline, but it is a 4.3 ratio, the lsd centre can swap in. Some had larger diam cwp bolts, ,,,, there are threads on this site on the sleeves you use to use the smaller 260z cwp bolts.

An R200 should do the job for you. Bolt in too, as both 180's and 200's came standard in 280ZX's.

I'd think you want a 4.3, given the RB conversion.

The weak link might be half shafts and not diff anyway.

Maybe use CV's instead of uni joints?

My 280 with a 4.5 nissan v8 uses the R200 diff with a Kazz LSD & can take bucket loads of torque

as in adaptors for the diff to bolt up yeah? tbh i haven't even checked what diff i have already :/ its an auto 79. I'm just assuming its an r180?

The owners manual for my 1980 Manual says that the auto's run an R180 with 3.545 ratio whilst the manuals run the R200 with 3.70 ratio.
