Which shocks for sectioned struts?

Hey fellas

Going coilovers on the '71 240z and been reading up on which shocks fit sectioned struts. As far as I can make out, 300ZX front shocks are the go, for both front and rear. Can anybody confirm this, and what year model for the 300ZX shocks?

I think some people use AW11 MR2 as well depending on how short you want to make the struts.

I used mr2 aw11 shocks for the rear, 240z rear shocks for the front purchased from the USA. If I can remember correctly we sectioned 38mm front, 44mm rear.

 

For anyone buying shocks from overseas, be weary that gas shocks are pressurized and may not be able to fly over. I had to sea freight mine which took 6 weeks.
