C.A.R. Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 For sale one LHS (Rare Spares) door skin to suit a 2-seater Zed - surplus to requirements. It's been media blasted & etch primed. No rust or damage. Pickup preferred as it'd be a PITA to package & ship. Price: $120.00 (A new one sells for over $200.00, so this is a bargain). PM me here or CALL: Zero Four Zero Zero Zero Five Four Five Seven Two. Administrators gav240z Posted August 5, 2014 Administrators Posted August 5, 2014 Does that mean I get a second chance draw? Quote
C.A.R. Posted August 5, 2014 Author Posted August 5, 2014 I should explain... The owner of the Zed I am currently restoring, told me to sell-on any parts that were not going to be required in the rebuild - that LH door skin being one. The LH door off the Zed had two small rust bubbles in the bottom the skin, so I was just going to repair them, rather than re-skin the door. I then had the body & panels media blasted, which reveled the LH door skin to be more akin to a slice of Swiss cheese - someone previously had fibre-glassed & bogged the INSIDE of the door skin to cover up the rust. It was such a good job I couldn't tell it had issues! I now have to replace the skin, so of course I needed the new door skin. I've refunded Mark the $ & apologized, but it seams he's still upset with me Again Scoota, I'm sorry for all this stuffing around mate Quote
Administrators gav240z Posted August 6, 2014 Administrators Posted August 6, 2014 Thanks for the clarification, I think my LH door skin is probably ok, but won't know until I have it blasted for sure as it might be hiding a nice bog job. Hence I thought I'd grab this as a just in case I need it spare. Quote
Scoota G Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 No way mate i'm not unhappy at all, i actually think it's quite humorous the way we trade parts back and forth. For everyone else out there this is just a small indication of how difficult it can be restoring cars. All good buddy, all good Quote
