L28 budget build - Looking for opinions/feedback.

Thanks mate, feel free to send me specs. However I really want to build an engine for the learning experience.

The engine is an L28/ N42 combo. The block is an F54 and is stock bore with a set of chrome rings i fitted. Other than that the bottom end has not been touched. It has

Triple 45MM Dellortos on a Polished Kameri Manifold with Genuine Linkages

Custom cold air intake and heat shield

Electronic Distributor

Genie Extractors port matched to head

120 Amp Alternator

I also have a set of brand new ARP rod bolts that go with it

The cylinder head i spent a fair bit on. I bought it off a club member here and it has had the valve stems de-shrouded , it has

Stainless Steel Valves

Shaved for higher compression

Mild Crow Camshaft & Springs

Stewart Wilkins Adjustable Cam Gear & Shims

ARP Stud Kit

I am negotiable on the price, the engine is still in and can be test driven.

The best way to get the most out of these engines is in the cylinder head but for most of us that level of engine building is beyond us. It does surprise me when people go for a stroker but if you are making 1.6 Hp per cubic inch you will notice the extra 19 Cubic inches of a 3.1 Stroker

Nah helps better to build it yourself than buy one.

Just sayin...

Speaking of which did you get your head gasket checked yet?

I take it that means it's blown but not badly from over-revving the tits off it on the track lol.

Yes, by none other than Brisbane Northside's best Datsun specialist!

I had a look at it the other night.

No.

It's being tested, on track, at 7500 rpm plus.

Exactly! I best get me a tacho.

BAck to the topic at hand, if I had never built an engine before (well, I haven't!), and I was going to give it a crack, I wouldn't use all my good bits, I'd save them for the second attempt when I (thought I) knew what I was doing or realised that going to a professional was a better idea!
