hey guys

I just received my taillight gasket so I took the lights off and gave them a good wipe and had them back on, I then tried to put the trim panels back on but the bottom part pops back out seems there are clips and they aren't holding the panels on, I was quite over it as I couldnt figure out why it wasn't locking the panel into place so I moved to the other side and both of the clips there are buggered.

What can I do? I was thinking of using my dremel and cut off the clips (they are beyond repair) and just put a blob of silicon to hold the panels on.

I don't want to make holds and screw them on and I am quite sure I won't be able to find the same clips easily.

i know that the 240s normally have a metal bracket welded to the body and a metal clip that clips the panel to the body.

my question is,

is there any way of securing the tail light panel if you dont have the metal tabs and clips anymore?

Pics of aforementioned clips. I'm sure we can find them!

If you are careful when removing them as to not pull any paint off then the silicon will clean off with mineral turps and leave the paint intact, but needing some polish before you silicon them back on again.
