Hi

This is my first post on the website. I've wanted a 240Z for quite some time (since year 9 when everybody wanted skylines and wrx with BOV's) and I just wondering when you guys first got your hands on a zed?

I should really find one and just hop in to see for fitment, coz im over 6 foot tall. Are the easy on a tall person, interior wise?

Thanks

Hi and welcome.

Myself and my brother fit in my 260z 2+2 easily. My brother is over 6 foot tall so yeah, no worries there!  :D

First time I got my hands on a Z? Was about 5 months ago when I bought my 260... Can't wait till I finish the rebuild so I can actually have a ride and a drive in a Z.  :D

Cheers.

Im around 6ft3" and 110kg & i fit into my 240 no probs..It just looks ugly when I get out of the car !

I fell in love with zeds in the late 70's when in Primary school. I waited till June this year to buy one !!

My search for a Z started when I saw a blue 2 seater 260z at Albert Park. It was driving in front of me and I was soon looking at them on the net. Took a while to find one that was a good fit for my plans.

i sat in a tall guys z road registered track car that had fixed bucket seats bolted directly to the floor so there was room for his helmet, lol, so there's always that option

i'd always liked 240z's but didn't work out i could actully buy one for quite some time...and the reasons not to have one weren't all that important :D

Ive liked zeds for around 15years , my dad used to have a 300zx. But ive only just brought mine a week ago and it was a great decision, cant see you having any trouble driving them i reckon theres heaps of leg room. I decided the 240z and 260z were too rare and too expensive and was looking at 280zx's. Then i drove one and it was an auto, it was gutless and handled like a boat. So i did some more looking and drove an auto 260z and that was much better. Then i found my new baby, 1977 260z 2+2 5speed with a l28 motor and im hooked for life!!

My old man is 6 foot 6 and he drives my 240 easy and its stock interior.

I wanted a zed ever since the bus got stuck on a dirt road during a school camp to the grampians, and while we were waiting a 240 almost killed us while he was drifting round one of the blind corners. Bought mine when I was 16 and had it ready for my 18th birthday.

You should be fine - after all, the Z car was designed for the american market, and specific note was made of the fact that they had to fit American height people inside it!  I'm 6 foot, and had plenty of headroom left.

im 6"1 no problem fitting in my 240z just luv the feeling of sitting on the floor and right over the rear axle

was orginally gonna buy a rx3 mazda coupe to rebuild then got a ride in a 240z the rx3 was history after that had to have a 240z that was 20 years ago and i still have my first zed though its been modified many times since

Thanks heaps guys, really overwhelmed with the response. There is a car going for Shannons Auction soon, it's a 260 2+2 and since i live 2 mins drive from them might check it out if time dictates, otherwise coninue driving my sisters '90 Barina and save for the dream :P

I had to do the same thing for my helmet to clear the roof :)

Without a helmet there's heaps of room though.  My brother who is 6 foot 6 fitted in the car easily and that was before I lowered the seat.

Now that i have fixed the seat brackets, i hope they are not too far back for me!  If they suit all you iants, I hope it is okay for someone only 5 foot 5 ;)

I had a look at that 260z at Shannons last saturday, looks pretty neat and apparently goes like a rocket. Has no front and rear bumpers and there expecting between $5,000 and $8000.00

I just went on tuesday, cup day, but the guys there weren't sure if there was one in stock "i do remember we had a 260 that looked like a ferrari" I shook my head thinking "no not that bodykitted wannabe". But then came home and checked the net, yeah 5-8. Got pissed off though coz there was this silver 240Z on sale at ebay. Bid was $2025 and the bidding would stop in 7 days. The reason why it was so cheap at the time was because it had extensive damage to the front left corner (no fender, bonnet, grille, bumper) But he quoted 2-3g's for repair so even then still a bargain in my faverouite colour for the car, silver and manual. But he pulled the plug, most likely somebod offered him privately and took it off him, such a shame! I'm done hahaa.

Theres a black 240z on ebay at the moment with perfect interior and a fully engineered 3.5 rover v8 matched to a supra 5speed. Looks pretty good dont know what the reserve is set at.
