Hey guys, not sure if you have seen/ heard of the GT phanton mirrors yet.

They look bloody awful.

But let me continue.

I recently saw these on ebay for something like $100 including postage and nearly instantly dicounted them as they

look so shite with all the plastic moulding lines and the crappy looking logo printed on each side. But, i then realised

that it really wouldn't be too hard to sand all the moul dlines back, fill all the divets, and give it a good lick of satin

black paint (the colour of mirrors i was after anyway).

I did a bit of a search and found that someone else had come up with the same idea.

I think that I'd like to try and do a better job than that ( i think matt black can make it look too cheap over satin).

Considering the cheapest Nissan mirrors you can get in this format are at least $200, and they will need a paint

anyway, what do you think about these?

That's what I did.  They look fine once painted.  I have pics of them on my zed in my build thread.

The problem with them is the plastic is quite soft and can easily be threaded.  I am on my second pair right now for this reason.

There won't be a third, trust me.  :)

Just a personal opinion but you won't save much money buying these over the OEM ones. The OEM ones will be much better quality. So I would go with those. These seem to be made of plastic I'm pretty sure the factory ones were steel?

There are lots of other areas you can save money on your build. For me this wouldn't be 1 of them.
