BatmansDatsun Posted October 14, 2013 Posted October 14, 2013 Hey Guys Well I have decided to keep the Z and throw more money into it I have a set of 45 DCOE's (152g) coming from down south and need help with the setup and tune. From what I gather the factory weber jetting is pretty close to what it should be. I have been told that they are as following. Emulsion Tube : F16 Choke : 36mm Main Jet : 145 Air Corrector : 155 Idle Jet : 55F8 Pump Jet : 45 Whats the best starting setup bet for a close to stock motor with a fresh rebuild and shaved head running 2.5 extractors to a 2.5 exhaust. Thanks Guys Quote
Roady Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Hey mate, The set up I am running works ok for me. I have 45mm using 36 chokes on an L28 I can't remember the exact jetting mine came with but it sounds very similar to yours and I found it to be way to lean! Tried richening the main jets increasing accelerator pump jet size as well. Worked well but as I'm using a 72 degree cam it left a gap in power down low which I wasn't happy with, which I then tried to overcome it with the idle jets but still to lean. So change the emulsion tube and started over. Current setting is: Idle Jet - 65F9 Air Corrector Jet - 210 Main Jet - 140 Accelerator Pump Jet - 60 Accelerator pump exhaust valve -00 Emulsion Tube - F7 This emulsion tube richened the overall mixture which meant I had to lean out the main jets and air corrector. The idle jet is very rich but has overcome the gap in the progression circuit (the cross over between idle and main jets) as you accelerate. Hope this helps. Quote
d3c0y Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 By the time you've bought all the wrong jets and found the right ones, you will probably wayy better off to take it to CNJ motorsport (they're even in underwood) and pick it up fully dyno tuned ready to go. These guys will get it spot on for you and you wont have to by a ton of jets to try and guess where it should be at. That's what i do anyway. Quote
dat2kman Posted December 10, 2013 Posted December 10, 2013 Roady, your's are the later Spanish made Webers, going by what is fitted, and the minor issues. Batman, you'll need bigger Airs, 45f9 idles, and maybe a change of Emuls tubes depending on where it stumbles, due to camshaft timing. Wide band O2 4 wire and instantaneous digital readout helps, along with a bit of uphill roadway, as flat road/no load is useless. Quote
