reverendzed Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Hey guys....Well I have my manual box, clutch kits, pedals and bits....but I think I may need some extra help! I have $200 to put toward someone who is in the know to help me install my manual gearbox at my place in Narre warren South. I think I have all the bits ready to go and I plan to drop out the auto in the next week so it should be ready to go after that, any takers? I am also willing to help others who need minor touch ups as I have a spray gun and am pretty handy with it! Quote
Rod F Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 I've never done a conversion myself, but i've taken gearboxes in/out a few times. This weekend might be a bit tricky though, i'm meant to help the olds install a rainwater tank Quote
JP Posted September 13, 2007 Posted September 13, 2007 Have you done it in car before without a hoist? It was a real nightmare with my RB, in the end I pulled the engine again, assembled, then put it all in as one peice. (where is this going? well, if you do it this way, you will need a crane) Quote
C.A.R. Posted September 14, 2007 Posted September 14, 2007 If, its next WE Rev. I can lend a hand for a day (or more if need be). The old Zeds are pretty simple... Whats your workshop tool situation like? Oh, I'm just down the road too Shoot me a PM with your details. Quote
reverendzed Posted September 14, 2007 Author Posted September 14, 2007 Thanks Lurch, PM sent - I'm thinking whether I have to pull the motor or not? ideas anyone? Quote
sco_aus Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 If you can do it without, its a lot better for the fact there isnt as much chance of scratching the paint when putting the motor and box back in. I have done it on a few cars and whilst not easy, with 2 people it isnt that hard to do. Quote
Rod F Posted September 15, 2007 Posted September 15, 2007 If you have a proper hydraulic jack to support the gearbox it'll make things much easier. Quote
