RLY240 Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Despite the wet weather we had a good first day ending up equal 5th in Classic Outright. Tim was fast but suffered some mechanical dramas and missed a few stages and the other two Zeds are going well just outside the top 10. Looks to be wet again today but clearing for the weekend so looking forward to that. For those in SA check the targa web site for good spectator spots. Roger Quote
PZG302 Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Have fun and stay safe so you can regale us with tales of a successful event. Quote
JDSM Posted August 22, 2013 Posted August 22, 2013 Glad to see so many of the local boys up the top so far, great job! Night stage was interesting, impressed with the amount of spectators. Now if you excuse me, I'm heading up to have a gander. Quote
thriller Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Will be watching corkscrew & maybe some other spots tomorrow too. Anyone want to meet or catch up ? Ph is o422 o56 272 Quote
JDSM Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Roger, was that you guys (well, guy and gal) stuck on Pole Rd in the silver 240 at about 4:30ish? Should have stopped in hindsight and now I feel bad Quote
RLY240 Posted August 23, 2013 Author Posted August 23, 2013 Roger, was that you guys (well, guy and gal) stuck on Pole Rd in the silver 240 at about 4:30ish? Should have stopped in hindsight and now I feel bad Nope, not us, we made it through the day OK but dropped a couple of spots in the very wet stages. Certainly hoping for drier weather on the weekend. Who was in the white zed at the start of the Marble Hill stage? Roger Quote
GV260 Posted August 23, 2013 Posted August 23, 2013 Great going so far Roger. Best of luck for the remainder. Quote
Coops Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Who was in the white zed at the start of the Marble Hill stage? Roger That would have been me . Lucky enough to get out for a look Thursday, Friday and about to head out for Ironbank section today. Great event and soooo nice to get some miles on the Z after a long break. Quote
RLY240 Posted August 24, 2013 Author Posted August 24, 2013 Better weather today and back up to 5th with attrition. Unfortunately Goodwin and Knappstein didn't start today both with some mechanical gremlins and I think the Edwards car might have had a mishap this afternoon too. Short day tomorrow just need to bring it home in one piece. Roger Quote
JDSM Posted August 24, 2013 Posted August 24, 2013 Yeah, I worked out it was the Goodwin car I passed on the side of pole Rd. I also think Edwards ate some undergrowth or similar at some stage as their front spoiler was pretty mangled. Will post pics of the latter when I get then off a mate. Hope the car is in Norwood tomorrow Quote
JDSM Posted August 31, 2013 Posted August 31, 2013 A few pictures a friend snapped on Saturday near Pole Rd and Ironbank Rd. Used to live near this corner and about every 3 - 6 months you would see a P-platers car buried in the side of the road. The few zeds left running at this stage: Here's Roger: Some of my non-zed favs:: And my personal favourite: Quote
260DET Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Well done to those who finished, tough gig. Quote
