Riceburner Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Just after some recommendations for the best sealants to use on my gearbox rebuild. I've used aviation cement (permatex) on the engine and diff with great success, was thinking it should be good for the box too? Quote
dat2kman Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Any silicon tube type sealant, thin smear with fingers either side of centre plate, and under front cover, on the outer edges. The pin and circlips at gearstick, as well as pin and circlip that holds gearstick reciever into extension housing, a decent dob of slicon on the circlips, keeps them from popping off in use. Quote
260Coupe Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Ditto for 3 Bond.............use what modern cars use Quote
luvemfast Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Daniel. Seriously dude. I've read. Re-read. And it still doesn't make sense to me. Would you like to try again? Quote
