dat2kman Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Any Melb guys using stock calipers, Need contact names and numbers for suppliers of decent pads for S30 Bendix DB 86 is our Z, but I can drill pin holes in a BD625 ( Ford Escort/Capri/RS2000 to make fit. Have been using Bendix Race ( no not Ultimates, they are useless) Have tried Ferodo DS2500, they turned to crumble,, Dont want EBC, as they have ridiculous chamfers to leading/trailing edges. Hook me up. Who sells what? Quote
C.A.R. Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Call 'competition friction' in ACT, & ask for a suitable cross reference. Tried DS3000's? Maybe PFC's? Quote
dat2kman Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 Have used Pagids from Comp Friction, ridiculous prices, as usual. The Bendix Race range have been good value, about $240 a set, but due to lack of demand, are not being made Too many reports on ds3000's with solid rotors ripping the rotor to shreds, no thanks. Who/what is PFC? Was told VA Spiteri? Do pads??? Quote
pauly_adams Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 I was using bendix SRT (street road track) they stop well but doe tear your rotors to bits Quote
dat2kman Posted June 17, 2013 Author Posted June 17, 2013 Found PFC, They do not do either db86 or db625 Quote
PZG302 Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 Have you had a chat GSL Rallysport up here yet? Or GMP down in Melbourne, I knwo they are an ajent for Hawk and other brands and maybe able to help out. Might also be worth chatting to the guys at Performance friction at Stapylton if you haven't already, they have plenty of pad compounds avialble that should cope without ripping rotors apart. Contact details are: Unit 3, 11 Christensen Road, STAPYLTON QLD 4207 07 3807 8766 Quote
1600dave Posted June 18, 2013 Posted June 18, 2013 I run QFM A1RM pads in the DB86 size, bought through GSL. About $120 or thereabouts. Really good to deal with, the pads were in my mailbox within a day or two. In the past I've run Ferodo (I think they were 2500's, they crumbled over time), more recently ran Bendix Ultimates (these crumbled around the edges in no time at all), the QFM have been the best so far in terms of both performance and not crumbling away. I fitted a pair of new rotors at the same time as the pads and haven't noticed any serious wear on the rotor yet. Mind you, my car is lighter, slower and I probably don't drive as hard as you would. Not sure if what works for me would work for you. Quote
