T.A.P Posted September 19, 2011 Posted September 19, 2011 Hi guys I'm starting to re-assemble my car but I cant figure out where does this go (pic below) also how do I push the door bumper in its hole. Ive tried heating it up, clamp it ..etc...etc but no go. Thanks Quote

Looking at your drivers door from the side of the car, it sits around the lower left corner. You will see a hole where it pops into. That other part bolts to the door latch on the body (two bolts along the bottom of the catch). Quote

Try some Vaseline, smear it on the edges, then hold it at 45 degrees to the hole so that one edge sits to the inside of the hole, then twist and push down on it like a bottle cap and the edge should work its way into the hole as you twist. Simon, What can I say, we all here have certain skill sets, some like Lurch are Masters when it comes to ridding our beloved cars of cancerous rust, Peter Mc, the powertrain heart surgeon in our midst, and yes I even have some skills, and if it means having had to straighten Locky's hair when he went into the bathroom, riffled through my gear and came out into the lounge holding the iron like little Oliver with that look in his eyes "Can I have more Sir?" how was I to refuse ? However by the same token, when I look at you Simon, and the perfection personified that you are (NOT) I cant think of a single thing that any of us could do to enhance or improve what is there, only because the tools and means to do so have yet to be created by the wonders of modern medicine or science to do so.
