J.B. Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Can someone confirm that the 240 rear hatch is a different size to a 260 hatch? I know the doors are longer on a 260Z and I've been told that the hatch is a different size too, but I thought I would confirm this with more experienced Z handlers. Any help most appreciated. - JB Quote
reverendzed Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 J.B as far as I know it depends on the year of the Zed. Early 74 260z Hatch will fit a 240...I know that much! Rev. Quote
J.B. Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 Thanks Rev, I'm trying to work out if a '73 240Z hatch will fit my '74 260Z. Thoughts? Quote
C.A.R. Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Yes it will. As long as your 260Z is not a 2+2 Quote
J.B. Posted March 21, 2010 Author Posted March 21, 2010 Thanks Lurch, most appreciated. Kinda figured the +2 hatch just MAY not fit! Quote
Dandaman Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 Hey, thought i might hijack this hatch thread as iv a similar question Below the glass of my 240z hatch is fair rusted and dented, could this section of hatch from a 2+2 be transplanted over? Quote
reverendzed Posted March 21, 2010 Posted March 21, 2010 You can make almost anything fit depending on your skills. At a guess though I would say yes, it would be something that I would try personally. Rev. Quote
xa1973 Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Below the glass of my 240z hatch is fair rusted and dented, could this section of hatch from a 2+2 be transplanted over? A tape measure is always a handy thing..... Quote
Dandaman Posted March 22, 2010 Posted March 22, 2010 Indeed it is, but I would also need to have a 2+2 hatch handy I was hoping to find out if it would suit before buying one. This suggestion came from another zed owner, I just wanted some confirmation from you guys before I went ahead with the search for a wrecking 2+2. I thought somebody on here may have considered if not tried this repair before, could save alot of folding and time. Quote
