it's close, i would like something a little more complete, or running, but this might be my only shot at a 2 seater (even though not a 240). does anyone know the car and/or seen it recently?

Hi all, so i have been looking for a while, missed out on a couple 2+2's unfortunately, but figured there are some on here that have been thinking of selling, but haven't posted. I am not delusional and I know I am not going to be able to get a decent 240/260z 2seater for a low price, and i like the 2+2s, so i am willing to look at either. not really interested in anything that has an engine swap with anything other than an L series motor. So let me know what you have for around $12k either way, or under. Cheers

Does any know of this car, or has seen it recently? I have enquired about the car and asked some more photos, my only problem is, i am in Melbourne, and this is in Brisbane. transporting the car wont be a problem, as it runs and i can organise transport easily, but going to find it hard to go see the car soon.

Peoples thoughts on this one? Anyway, here are the deets! Engine and Engine Bay: - Engine bay resprayed black and confirmed that there is no rust - L26 engine - original engine with matching numbers - Twin downdraft webers installed and setup - I have kept the old round top SU-type Hitachi dual carbie setup (originally used on the 240z) if you want to return this car back to a more original state - they do need a rebuild kit put through them however - New 3 row radiator and dual thermo fans installed - I have kept the old radiator and old fan if you would like to return this back to original as well - Engine and bay just had over $4,000 spent on it this year doing the following - i have recepits as proof: - Welsh plugs - Block cleaned and sprayed, - Full tune with the twin downdraft weber carbies - New points - New dizzy, - New spark plugs, - etc - there is more but i can't think of it off the top of my head. - Gearbox is in good condition - Clutch is in good condition - Rear drum brake rebuilt - All brakes are in good condition (drums on the back and disks on the front) Interior and Inside the Car: - the dash has a cap on that you can barely notice - dash has no cracks - old school head unit with casset tape compatibility works - i'm happy to throw in a newer head unit as well if desired - speakers are original and in working order - i'm happy to swap these out for better speakers as well if desired - i also have a sub and amplifier than i am happy to throw in, however this has never been installed in this car as i didnt want to change it from original - all carpet is still in good condition with no rips - front passenger seat has a small rip, driver seat has a couple of rips, however there are seat covers over them and the foam is still in good condition - rear seats and inner panels are in good condition, seats do have a couple of little stains and a tiny rip (size of a 5c piece) Exterior: - Resprayed in 'Holden Sting Red' - some surface rust is starting to come through at the bottom of the passenger door (pictured) - this is the worst rust the old girl has - A couple of bubbles on the driver door (so small the camera can't pick them up) - Bonnet has a slight dent at the very front where a previous owner opened the bonnet onto some spotties he/she installed. - Original wheels - Headlights stopped turning on last month which is probably just a fuse or relay (this will be fixed if purchased with a roadworthy) Other: - Rego until July - Personalised plates DAT075 will be sold with the car if purchased with a roadworthy - I have service history receipts, and a lot of spare parts to go with including spare headlights and tail light surround, etc. More photos will be supplied upon request (Gumtree only lets me put a couple up) Asking price is $11,000 with a roadworthy ($10,000 without), considering the money that has gone into this old girl this year alone. I was watching it too, the rust on the hatch looked like signs of a lot more work, but price was good. But then i missed the auction end because of work....

if the body work is good, i am happy with average paint job, its only cosmetic, and this wont be a show car. i want one as a weekend car/project

yeah agreed on both points. to me, if the rust and paint's been done, and done properly, that's most of the hard work that i couldn't do myself or with the help of friends. well i'm waiting to hear back from a potential seller of a complete, running 2+2, if not, ill get in touch with this guy i think

Not that i am going to look at this one, but for arguements sake i did, buy and import this one and restored it to some what original looking, would it still have a similar value as an Australian delivered model? does the same then also go for ones imported from Japan or RHD imported from the US?

Hey gilltech, yeah i have noticed and learned a lot these small differences, and if i ever end up owning an S30, i am sure i will find out about a lot more. I thought I had seen early 260z 2+2 with the lamp of the drivers side. the inspection lamp has been one of the little things i really like on the S30s, so no matter which model i get, it will have one eventually.

yeah that's where i thought they were! haha

also, on the gold bus, i thought the inspection lights were on the drivers side, and not the passenger side?

Thanks Gav, i alway appreciate your opinions and advice. I have driven a 74 bus recently, although it's tires were quite flat and the car hadn't been started in a few years, she drove quite nice (havent driven a 2-seater), so i do have a fair idea what to go off. and yeah, definitely not relying on photos, just seeing whether it is worth my time to travel interstate to look at some of these cars, especially considering they have been advertised for a while. yeah, definitely interested about the paint and body work of the gold bus, as he mentions a new roof and floor....
