  1. Hey, I'm looking to get a full roll cage done in my 260z 2+2 to stiffen it and comply with ADR and CAMS regulations. Does anyone know of a good place around Brisbane? Thanks! James
  2. Thanks! But actually that was straight after picking up the car from sitting in the workshop for over a week so it was a little grubby. I'll give it a polish some time soon
  3. Got the car back on Thursday and went straight out for a drive to Dayboro, through Samford with some mates. It runs much better now. So pleased!
  4. Here are a couple I prepared earlier.
  5. Really? The paint job is only 3ish years old. How do you recognize it?
  6. Got the new distributor last week! So nice and shiny I put that in straight away and booked her in for the tune. Since Tuesday this week it has been in the hands of Jim in Stafford for the tune. Things seem to be going quite well so far. Hopefully I'll be able to pick it up on Tuesday sometime. So far he found that the compression was running low in 5/6 of the cylinders and the jets were damaged somehow to the point that they weren't really responsive to adjustment. New jets are on their way to finish the job! As well as this, we've replaced the leads. They were showing their age and I'll change out the coil sometime soon. BIC290 according to performance ignition in Melbourne, recommended by Bosch. I went into work today to see if I could pick it up but we didn't have it, just the Fuelmiser equivalent cc202 which unfortunately doesn't come with the mounting bracket. I'll either make one or hunt the Bosch one down soon.
  7. Thanks guys. Much appreciated.
  8. Hey Guys, I have up for sale an electronic distributor. It is in working condition with good advance however the breaker/base plate has a crack on one of the bearing holders... the usual problem. In saying this, it still works quite well at this stage. Make an offer.
  9. This is how the carby's look with the air cleaners off as well as some tags i found attached to them
  10. Thanks Peter, I don't know a whole lot about the carby's yet but i believe they're round top's?
  11. If anyone is after a full bush kit, this is where i got mine. Came very quickly! http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/360371616183?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649 And for an electronic distributor; http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/400284627147?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649
  12. Hey guys, Sorry to pull out at the last minute but I'm still waiting on parts to arrive and won't be able to make it to this meet Next time I hope! James
  13. Yep, you can adjust them so that the wheel doesn't wobble around on it.
  14. Hey guys, I have a points type distributor here for an L26. Number is D411-58k. I bought it before I knew enough about my ignition system. Turns out I needed the electronic type. It is in good working condition. Looking for about $80 + postage from Brisbane. (ONO)

  16. Hey guys, I bought my first Z about a month ago now and I thought it time to share it with you all! Upon buying it, I took it to my mate's workshop and had it all looked over to see what needed doing and get a roadworthy for registration. We found that it was in desperate need of bushes and adjustment of most of the wheel bearings. After learning this, a few days of research concluded that my best bet was to order a set of prothane bushes from the US. While waiting for these, I decided it was time for a tune on the carby's from the smell of things! I took it to a guy in Stafford with alot of experience on the L26 and he determined that my distributor was in dire need of replacement. Since then, I have ordered one just the other day from america so that hopefully i'll have it all tuned and running in the next few weeks. The dizzy should arrive sometime next week, all going to plan. Then I can send in again to be tuned. Putting the tune aside, I received the bushes a little while ago and took them and the car back in to be replaced. I picked it up today for $700 with all bushes replaced minus a few unnecessary ones, bearings adjusted and a few other things. I took her for a drive and it feels much much firmer. Definitely worth it! I've uploaded a few pics of the old bushes too. After I get the tune done, I think my next project will be to put an LSD in it. At the moment I'm looking at getting a Quafie through work brand new rather than a 2nd hand clutch type or other. Then I'll think about changing out the suspension; shocks and springs and lowering it a bit more. At the moment it has lowered king springs on the front and possibly Tokico's on the rear. I haven't been able to get any numbers or words off them yet... they're red. As well as this, down the track I want to do a brake upgrade to Wilwood calipers and rotors all around. They seem to be pretty well priced for such a good product. That should get me about ready for some track use too And even further away, maybe i'll put an RB25det into it for some more fun Hope you guys enjoy the photos and let me know what you think! Thanks, James
  17. I'm in Brisbane.
  18. I'm also really keen on one of those if someone else also has one? Cheers, James
  19. Hey guys, I have vents in my bonnet and I was just wondering if anyone has a spare original airbox for me? I want to keep the rain out of my carby's! Thanks, James
  20. Hey guys, I have a 1976 260 2+2 and I'm firstly wondering if the diff is an r200 or r180? By the looks of it most of the Z's have r200's? So I have found that Quafie make an R200 replacement helical LSD, meaning it wont completely lock.. I'm sure you guys know the low down on this stuff. Anyway, would this be a good way to go if i can get it at a good price? they seem to go for $1300 ish brand new. I'd probs be aiming for a better price than that.. but anyway, here is a link to the Quafie page on it. Let me know what you guys think! http://www.quaife.co.uk/shop/products/qdf7l Thanks! James
  21. Hey guys, I'm having a fair bit of trouble with my dizzy, but in a 260z, 1976 2+2. I took it to a mechanic, and he fixed it up a little for me but he said i need a new breaker/base plate assembly because one of those side holes for the ball bearings has broken and the bearing is jammed in, siezing it. So I'm basically wondering now after looking on rockauto.com, if the 280z distributor is the same as mine because they don't list one for the 260 from 1976? Also if there is something else I should consider? maybe a full distributor assembly? would that be cheaper? Then I was wondering if there is something all together that I can just replace this type of distributor with for more reliability and cost efficiency? I hope that isn't all too much to ask! haha Thanks guys! James

    L26 Distributor

Hey guys, I'm after a fully working distributor for my 1976 260z 2+2, L26. Thanks, James
  23. Hey guys, I had a look today to see if i could find the problem myself somewhere along the line with my fuel gauge mostly. I got part of the dash out and had a look around and everything looked nice and connected so I had a look at the fuel tank end. I found two wires that were taped together but not connected so I connected them and turned the engine on hoping for a result. All I got was two hot wires, no fuel reading. I have since separately taped them over. Also, i had a look for something resembling an oil pressure line or something. I found one very flexible metal hose type thing however it was capped and for some reason shoved through some other part under there, i think it was the heater element. Anyway, I'll try to post some pictures of what I found there. Hope somebody can help! Thanks!
  24. I'll be there
