This one is 74 260z 2 seater i purchased from Canberra in 2003 for $2000 i think. Just had the body and dash resprayed and repaired no engine and gearbox. Was planing to put the 2+2 engine in it. Probably should have kept this one....

Found some pics of the Zs I've had. The first ones a 2+2 that was very rusty and i had to strip down. Purchased it from Tugan on the Gold coast in 2002 i think? For $350. It had a wider fibreglass body on it.

Yeah the guy that did mine lives next door to my parents, I don't have his details but I can get them if you want. I wouldn't really recommend as it was sort of a backyard job, He doesn't have a booth but he has the rest of the gear. Good for panels and small bits and pieces. But in saying that he can do whole cars. He did the engine bay, around the tail lights, door jambs, fuel cap and anywhere else that would be hard to remove with paint stripper and a grinder. he did take a few weeks longer than he initially said and i had to keep going around there but he did do a good job. I'm sure there would be someone up there closer to you?

Well Scoota you should have come up for a holiday and done the rust repair..... it will get there one day lol
-
Another update. The body now has all the rust cut out and fixed (well as close as i can get it with out removing every piece of metal and checking for more). Now its on to the other panels. New door skins have arrived. He's taking his time with it but that's alright, these things take time I've already owned it for nearly 10 years, so i must be in any real rush lol.

Hi, yeah i replaced my chasis rails with ones i made from 1.5 zinc sheet and got my panel beater to remove old ones and put the new ones in. But mine were crushed as well as rusty.
-
Haha yeah so it is... thats alright yours is in adelaide nice colour originally i was going a gun metal grey but then decided to get some colour in it and i haven't regretted it. Yours is moving fast by the looks of it should be on the road in no time

Hes had a couple of weeks off but now he's gone onto the rest of the body and the only rust was to be found in the fuel filler area. Which was pretty good i thought getting closer can't wait to see the colour on the body.

Thoughts for a daily - 1969 1000 (A14 turbo)

I had a worked 61 mini for a daily drive for 2.5 years loved the car but the novelty wears off after a while and you want comfort. My dad still has it now and does hill climbs and sprints with it and i take it for a spin every now and then then i jump into my 2008 model car and its a great feeling. Quieter, smoother, demisters that work, headlights that i can see with i wouldn't go back and i only drove 10 mins to work. But i still love the car -
Cheers guys Yeah not the standard orange but Porsche burnt orange i think it is? Will probably be doing black wheels and highlights as well.

The panel beaters moving along. Its great to finally see some progress. He has put it up on a rotisserie and removed the chassis rails as they were pretty rusty an knocked up and split on some edges. The underside of the car looks like its had a hard life like its been in a few rallies. So he asked me to make some new rails for it as it would be quicker and more cost effective for me. The one in the pic was the better rail but this was after he had knocked it all back into shape.

yeah to start with i was there every week asking him when he was starting but towards the end i wasn't worrying about it. But then i decided i really want it done. Anyway heres some pics of the car from today
-
Well its been nearly a year of my car sitting at one panel beaters. So i decided to pick it up and go somewhere else and he wasn't to pleased but he had it for a year and kept putting every one else in front of it. Dropped it off yesterday arvo at the new guy and when i went around at lunch time today he had already started. So finally i can get the ball rolling again on the z.

Yeah he had to roll his guards to make em fit. How do you thinks those grids are going to go under yours? I would really like some but don't want to if they are going to be a tight fit it's the only thing holding me back. I bought his sons old engine L 28 -

Just do it! You will be glad once you have them on the car. Where are you getting them from I might need some and they sound like the right price For me -
Thanks

Hey Ben just wondering if you can get fiberglass dash or even a carbon one? thanks

Hey everyone cars at the sand blasters. The bonnet has a few rust holes in the front and a ding that had a fair bit of bog hiding it. The car should be heading to to painters next week while Im leaving to go on holidays for 3 weeks tomorrow night. There is always something happening when i go away and all i can think of is the project sitting at home and not the holiday! Found a couple of photos my mate had of when we were taking the engine out. Hope you all had a good Easter I will have to see how the paint looks when i get home and put some pics up See you all in 3 weeks i hope

Yeh I'm pretty sure mine has auto written on my plates. Something like datsun sports auto?
-
Tim you dont want my engine I heard it was a piece of crap blows smoke and everything you were just to slow in buying it !!
-
Yeh I'm not to sure which green it was as the previous owner removed the sticker when they painted it black so I am not to sure. The wheels I painted yellow when I was going to keep it black about 5 years ago but now I'm thinking about getting them polished up.
