Hi all, After more than a few years being on the back burner I've decided to pull the pin on the project car and sell it. As the title states it's a 1975 260Z 2+2. Manuel. The body is in fair condition with most of the rust taken care of, although there is still some work to be done. Original engine and gearbox, engine hasn't been turned over in more than 5 years. No interior. not much more to be said about the car, the majority of the parts I have are in the photos including the spare SU carbys which I believe came from a Volvo. The car came to me as is. Asking $2000 OBO (will swap for a BSA Bantam but I don't fancy my chances) I'm located in Essendon, Melbourne. Feel free to come have a look or ask questions Click the link to access photos. If you would like extra photos I can easily add more https://goo.gl/photos/zEqHZwWgaLkFovDb8 Can't seem to load them to the post. I'll try again later. Cheer Lachlan. 0400588795

Haynes manual now gone. -
Hey guys, Cleaning stuff out and I have the haynes manual (240,260 and 280) and the Wick Humble "how to restore your Datsun Z car" manual. I no longer need them as I am not going to restore my 75 Z anymore due to falling in love with classic unreliable British bikes. They are both free, except for postage unless you pick them up. Haynes manual is in good condition. Wick Humble book come with free petrol stain, Still functions very well as a book. If you don't need them or both of them don't take them. Sharing is caring. First in first serve via PM. Cheers Lachlan Also I have a 75 260 2+2 shell with little rust, engine, manual gearbox and some interior stuff . If interested ask for photos. It will go up soon.

I have a 75 2+2 that may suit your needs if you are still after a car. Mostly a complete car minus interior trim and only minor rust that I'm aware of. If your keen to have a look let know. Cheers Lachlan

Hi all, Just a few various parts that I no longer need. I could sell them but I'm a nice guy (also this is less effort). Parts are off a 1976 2+2 and include. -driver side door minus mirror, good condition. -dash, cracked of course with most gauges and glove box. -indicator assembly from passenger front quarter panel. -battery and water inspection panels. -L+R tail light surrounds and wiring looms. -wiper assembly and motor. -2 sets of rear quarter windows (both need to be combined to make 1 full usable set) -2/3Rd's of a rolling shell. minus front quarter, floor pans, spare wheel well, doors, hatch...... But its has, suspension and steering set up, full wiring loom, brake lines and some other bits. I'll give it a couple of weeks and then it will go to the scrap yard. Send me a message, first in first served. all parts are in glenroy. Cheers Lachie

I'm in Glenroy, Melbourne. So it would have to come via Auspost, unless you happen to be down this way?

Hi, There is still one on my parts car if you interested. Its not new but it still worked before I stripped the car. Cheers Lachlan

Hi guys, Clearing out the shed so i can pull it down(before it falls down) and build a bigger one. So I have to rid myself of all the double up and whats left of the parts car, which is a fair bit. Some parts are shown in the photo but I'm not pulling them all out to take pictures. To save a few questions these are the THINGS I DONT HAVE. gearbox, panels, hatch, clutch assembly, seals, carpet and a few others that i cant think of. I do have, - l28 f54 block in need of a rebuild, last running 2 years ago. sold @4:45pm 5/3/2012 -engine crane and stand. sold 4:45 5/3/12 -[s]cracked dash [/s] on hold and center console sold -rear seat(fair con) on hold -fuel tank -choke cable assembly and also the car(76 260 2+2), it still has a lot of cables, bolts, nuts, mounts and things that may be reused. All the stuff has to go so make an offer or if your after small parts shoot me a email and I'll see if its still there. also your welcome to come have a look and take what you need. would rather this stuff gets recycled rather than scrapped Cheers Lachlan Items on hold pending sales. console, brake lines and master cyclinder, tail lights, grille. sorry if i'm a little slow to reply to emails. also email me if your interested as thats the method i'm using to work out who's getting first dibs

Hi guys, For those who would like to take a look or even speak to the owner feel free to give her (Kathy) a call on 0425740940. she should be able to help you out a bit more although she isn't a car person... sorry about being slow posting details. Cheers Lachlan

Hi everyone, The car that is for sale belonged to a family friends partner who recently passed away. She has asked if I could put it up here first as she would rather sell it to someone who will appreciate it. If anyone is interested let me know and I'll pass on contact detail. It was a project car and is about 90 percent done. He had a 2nd car for parts so everything should be there. The rust has removed and panels repaired/replaced and sprayed to match. I believe engine and the auto gearbox are originals and in working order. Its mostly the interior that needs work. The car is in torquay, If anyone is around that area and able to have a look and post more details it would be greatly appreciated. There are more photos if anyone is keen to look. Sorry i cant provide more details but interested partys are more than welcome to look just let me know. cheers Lachie. I haven't been able to get a price out of her but she seems to be looking around the $3000-3500 area. The other "selling point" I left out is the the suspension has been replace by pedders.(not sure on details but she still has all the paperwork). I'm also trying to find out the mileage and will update the post when i do. I can pass on her number if anyone is keen to talk to her.

I've got a spare bolt and the retaining plate floating around you can have, but its out of a 76 260z. Would be shocked if it didn't fit. Lachie

Hi, Does anyone know of or have had experience with a car freight company who is willing to move a half complete project car. my problem is that the car is in Brisbane and I'm in Melbourne, it looks to be a great next project but i don't want to buy it until i know what it's going to cost to get it here BUT i do want to buy it before someone else does. Most companies are happy to move an older car until i tell them that it's not running, there are 6 boxes of parts and about a dozen loose larger parts including bumper, seats, taillights, exhaust...etc Has anyone else had this problem? and how did you get around it? Am i better off going up there to get it myself(3-4 day trip) Or should i let this one slide and wait for something local to come up(Anyone got a 98% rust free 2+2 with all parts for sale?) If you know of someone who is willing to take the job at a fair price, say under $1500 could you please let me know. Thanks in advance, Lachie

hi, This is unlikely but no harm asking. Anyone doing a trip from brisane to melbourne with a empty car trailer??? or even half way? happy to splash some cash. Lachie -
Hi all, Does anyone know anything about this car or have had a look at it "http://brisbane.gumtree.com.au/c-Cars-Vehicles-Motorbikes-Parts-cars-1975-Datsun-260z-for-sale-suit-parts-or-restoration-W0QQAdIdZ238368441" (Gumtree brisbane Ad# 238368441) I'm rather interested but it's 2000K's away so i cant just pop in and take a look. Any feedback would be great. Thanks, Lachie also has anyone used a transport company that's willing to pick up a undriveable car full of part from location and bring to a melbourne depot? striking out at this end.

G"day, The roof's about the only thing on mine that isn't rusted. But I'm in melbourne. If you can't find anything local PM me. Lachie

Hi guys, I have a almost complete passenger door( minus arm rest and mirror) up for grabs. It off my 1976 260z 2+2. apart from the amateur modifications done to house the speaker it's in OK condition. Only some surface rust in the door cavity The scratch on the glass is only the tint film not the actual glass. The door card is still in one piece but the speaker hole has been made bigger and then had the spacer screwed onto it using 40mm timber screws! Lock and handles all work fine although the exterior handle had to be adjusted(reason for the card coming off). Hinges included as well. I also have the matching driver side card, hinges and glass(some fine scratches) but the door is scrap or if anyone needs it for panel steel. Thinking $130 for the passenger door or nearest offer And for the other stuff will trade for a copy of "How to Rebuild Your Nissan & Datsun OHC Engine" or some beer or $20 Gotta make room so i can rebuild my L28 so this stuff has to go(against good advice) If you have any questions or you want to take a look let me know. Cheers Lachlan

Thanks heaps for the advice guys. Think its time to get a bigger garden shed(2nd bedroom idea didn't go down well with the Mrs), but i still won't have anywhere for the chasis :-\ Cheers Lachlan

Hi guys. Just after a bit of advice on what parts I should keep off my former project car now parts car. The problem i have is that my shed isn't big enough for 2 cars and with plans to get my 2ND 260( when I find something suitable) I have to make room. I've been slowly pull mine apart but i cannot keep it all. So I'm curious to know if there is a general rule of what to keep at all cost? A few bits have gone ( bonnet, driver front 1/4, hatch, front bumper, maybe the gearbox(pending), clock, washer bottle) and I don't know if I'll regret it later, but there are a few other things like, passenger front 1/4, passenger door, seats( front and rear), dash(cracked of course) and the engine. Now these are space consuming but should I keep them or are they easy enough to get? I would be gratefull of any advice. Thank heaps. Lachie

Hi, My name is lachlan, been reading your forums for tips and advice for a while, decided it was time to sign up. Got my hands on a 76 260z 2+2 a couple of years ago now with plans to do the full resto. It was a gamble due to the rust and the dodgy repair jobs but i was keen and had plenty of love to give. sadly i had to give it the bullet. Now got my eyes open for a new project but after i bury the other one and make some room. No doubt I'll have questions in the future but I am learing a lot dissecting the old girl. Cheers Lachlan
