I checked it out, it was in pretty good nick for the price. Minor holes in the bonnet, hole in one floor pan. But I was a little iffy as it had a knock in the rear quarter, and it couldn't be driven to see if it drove ok due to a slave cylinder problem and engine being idol a while. Looking back, I should have offered him 5k. Oh well, hindsight is great

I am definitely not saying it's only worth $100, I know it's worth more than that, the auction is proving this, but I can not agree with his demeanour on the forum. Hell, if I was closer id throw a few hundred his way to take it off his hands and use some of the running gear. But 'threatening' people with crushing it is not the right idea

agreed, Reallious, you are trying to play with emotions through your wording, but truth is its a 280, and a damaged one at that, so very few people are going to feel the strain on their heart strings. If you were dead set on seeing it go, you would start the auction at $100, which is what you would be lucky to get from scrap metal (scrap metal is worth jack shit these days) and then be happy with whatever you got above that. So if its a dummy bid on your ebay ad, good luck

checked these out on the weekend. well worth the coin, unfortunately though, I planned on having it complete by summer's end and my mate (who's factory it would be stored at) didnt think i would be able to get it finished in that time frame, and reneged on the offer. If i had my own garage to work on them, i would have snapped them up. You would only need space for the shell as the shell of the blue car has definitely seen better days (though it does have some good bits that could be cut out) The current owner is also a top bloke

i cant imagine there were zg police cars. there where a homologated for race use, wouldnt be worth the expense to the cops, but they did have regular z's

There was a tow truck out the front of his house, possibly his. he had a few other non jap shitboxes in his yard, so im guessing he got asked to take a wreck and decided to hoard them in his yard instead and try to make some coin

checked out this one today, dont waste your time owner thinks that just because the wheel well hasnt rusted through its 'one of the best zeds he has seen' the hatch has the worse bog job i've seen the rear quarters have two exposed rust holes about 6x4" the one sill i could see (he has moved it up against a fence since those photos) has bubbles all through it Paint is very faded interior is in good condition however as for "drives well", it was last started over a year ago. it currently sits there with the rocker cover off and cam gear missing, and water has got in. He says he has new seals for it, but it may be too late. After inviting me into his house for a chat over coffee and seeing a swastika flag on his wall, i wasn't keen. he then said he was firm on the $4k and that i'd have to be quick as it would sell this weekend at that price Instead of offering the $2.5k i thought it was worth (at most), I said i would get back to him as not to offend him
