Bout time! Good on you OZ001 - I didn't buy your muffler but you got a sale eventually! Good luck to whoever bought the beast...
  2. My condolences also, thats rough.
  3. Just got some plastic chroming done by Greg at AClass - you know those little plastic strips along the tail lights...mine were really stuffed. They fixed / preped up the brittle plastic, chromed the whole strip and then painted the middle part, I should post a pic...but they would blind you haha! Anyway, if you want a good job done with around three week turn around (mine cost $140 bucks), give them a go: Greg Wood Director A Class Metal Finishers Pty Ltd 6 Waddikee Rd (PO Box 73) Lonsdale South Australia 5160 PH: +61 8 8384 4331 FAX: +61 8 8384 4266 www.aclassmetal.com.au
  4. After all of the work, time, thought and money gone into our cars, for you to be so calm about the matter is fantastic... I was leaning on the drivers fender to see if the shockies were fine, and put a dent in it... wanted to beat myself up!
  5. Haha, yep, it takes a bit to shake zcar members outta their tree! thought you fellas would probably know about it already. Funny Avatar Hunter - that's a classic!
  6. Hey, Found this site while hard at work. Not my bag but could be a resource for people swapping to RB power... http://mckinneymotorsports.com/products
  7. I check this site daily to take me away from the BS at work and after hours alot as well (no life). But I think the comment about what $ we need for the month and what we have might be a good idea (counter of some sort)... If I read that we needed say $200 this month and we were at $120, I'd throw a tenner in. Anyways, just a quick show of support for this site - I've got some old parts I'll post up soon, some of them will be donated to auszcar.com.
  8. I'm moving that weekend but will be in for the next QLD event.

    r200 3.9 lsd

That's really interesting. I'm putting together an L28 ITB Turbo build and looking for the strongest diff / driveline I can (within financial reason!). I'll put the R180 back in the mix. Apologies for hijacking your thread Herrods, good luck with the hunt!

But the R180's are not as strong as the R200 are they, isn't that why they came out with the R200 - cause we kept on smashin the R180's?

    r200 3.9 lsd

I've been watching this thread and must be missing something. I've got an R200 to go in the car, but before that I was thinking of chucking a LSD into it...http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=170470830861#ht_2831wt_722 and ratios aside, hey presto r200 LSD?!
  12. I'd say if you are looking to have a tidy Z in a few years it seems a pretty good place to start. Some of the guys on this forum have started with cars in worse condition (although their knowledge may be greater) but of course for less $. It really comes down to budget, even though it's hard to look at these things objectively! If it ain't all bent and the price is right for you, I'd say go for it as this one seems to have a few good things going for it.
  13. Bahahaha this is classic stuff:) I'll have to think up some other mandane thing that you guys would know heaps about! It won't be hard for me... Are 240's 4 or 5 stud pattern...?!
  14. Baaahaha, that ute is goona be one 4WD beast! Thanks alot for sending the file to Wax - post ur progress with the new "donk"
  15. Hey Garvice, I remember you now from the BBQ over at Stevo's from your engine, yeah I'd be interested in taking the lot, easier for everyone really and I'm trying to put the same engine together at the mo. Begs the question "what you gonna build instead"?! Anyways let me know, I've got most parts ready (for Waxhead to put together)!
  16. Hey Garvice, How much for the LS1 coil bracket ? I'll need one ASAP
  17. Zedman240 ur info gave me enough knowledge to deal with the Bunnings mutant, appreciated.
  18. Turbo pump arrived today, now just the oil cooler, adapter and lines to find! Many thanks Datzed.
  19. Hey, Yup I'm fine with that - let me know when you want me to pick it up. I would be interested in 6x 9's but thought about going after some Eclipse speakers, however open to suggestions. Cheers.
  20. Help! I've hired a engine hoist to swing the original block out of the rear tire well, got no time to fart around going back in forward from my place to the hardware store all Saturday morning sussing out bolt sizes, while picking up the hoist and the boss complaining about a wrecked Sat morning...to the forum! I bought an engine stand this week and its ready to go. Does anybody know what size and pitch? the L series gearbox bolts are, so when I get the block out I have the right bolts to attach the engine to the stand? Simple for some, but no me! Cheers in advance.
  21. You might be talking about Neals Wheels in Sydney, they too could help me source V4's, but they may well be using the contact that Wheel Revolution uses. Give these guys a call as they told me how it all works and I can't recall the deal, but at the end of the day we can get them if possible which is a good thing. My old 240 had them in NZ and I reckon they look pretty good. No worries re the price, this forum keeps the &^&#$@#@ honest - $2700 right down to the wheel nuts!
  22. Give Chris at Wheel Revolution a call (07) 3209 2833 he can give you advice on Simmons. I was worried how it would all fit under the guard too as I'm dreaming of willwoods at some stage, but Chris has fitted a few Z's and has the offset all sorted. It could be too late, but the customer is always wrong ain't he?!
  23. Guys I need your opinion... I've ordered a set of new Simmons V4's and they should be delivered within the month. What I wanna know is do you think the car will look better with 7inch/8inch or 8inch rims all round? The ole skool say 7/8 but I also hear that 8's all round could be the go also! Time to turn to the form...opinions greatly appreciated fellas...
  24. I can't help myself! PM sent.
