Hey Gav, I think it's time to can this before it gets ugly. -
Trying to find the noisy tappet problem and cut the baffel plate out of it. Not a pretty sight as only one screw would come out so I got the old 4"grinder out. Now Peter Mc and I have worked out what may be making the noise and I am sure he is right, I need a new rocker cover as the baffel plate will not fit any more. :'(

I need a L26 rocker cover. Prefer pickup Brisbane. Stuffed mine trying to find the noisy tappet.

I have spent up to 40k with mine as the wife tells me but that is not the point of building this car. I want a really good car that I can keep not do up in the hope of making a profit. It all depends what you want in the long run. -

Doing good mate, after 15 years of having a shed I still don't have power. Too easy to drag the lead up to the shed or too lazy to dig the hole I'm not sure what excuse to use. Playing with the Z is better than digging trenches anyway. ;D ;D

Now I have half resolved the problems with the motor rebuild I received my new manifold and bits from Dave at Arizona Z Car today. As my car is to be really good road car I am going with the Holly 390CFM set up to eliminate the problems with tuning old SU carbies or set up and tuning costs of triples. Now I have to save up for the Holly.

Thanks Peter, got my car back today from engine builder and he fitted a new cam {drilled] but it still has a lot of tappet noise. He is at a loss to what is happening but at least he didn't charge me anything. Said to take it back if it gets any worse.
