  1. I have 3 Zeds; 260 2+2 Daily driver 260 2 seater (avatar) to be restored 260 2+2 Parts car The car I plan to sell is the daily driver, but this will only happen when I restore the 2 seater. I'm currently $900 shy of my restoration budget. When the bank statement hits the magical figure everything will start to happen. When the restoration is finished I will have no need for both of the 2+2s so they will be sold at my leisure. Good luck with your hunt, get the word out to anyone you know, within 6 degrees of separation is a Zed under a tarp that's waiting for you. I found my 2 seater by a friend telling me about a car he had seen in a paddock whilst on a fishing trip. He said it was sort of like mine and that I should check it out. I was expecting to find a 280ZX and was blown away when I realised it was a 2 seater. $2000 cash and she was mine.
  2. G'day Grim, good luck with your hunt and welcome to AusZcar. How little do you want to spend? 240? 260? 2602+2? I know in your post that you mentioned that you are in Geelong but perhaps you would like to add that info to your profile so it appears under your Avatar. When I bought my first Z I was living in Geelong too and I had to travel to the SE Suburbs to find it. They all seem to be in Ringwood. Mines not for sale yet, maybe in the new year.
  3. I have 14 of 'em, very rare indeed. To be fair they are rare but only in America.
  4. I like the lack of symmetry...geigeresque.
  5. Nah it's not on telly yet, probably wont be for another few months. If you are desperate to see it now, you can do so on youtube. Here is the first link, part 2 and so forth are in the description box on the youtube page. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Vg0dDVJHHY
  6. Has your car been out in the rain? The cowl in front of the windscreen could have it's drain plugs full of crud. If this is the case, water will be coming in through the firewall.
  7. Looks very original with that pin stripping. Has anything been modified? If not market her as such. I always like to see the engine bay. Post more pics please.
  8. Yeah Paul Newman Gordon Doby, Mechanic for Datsun racing back in the day. Went on to own Datsun Performance Center and is now retired.
  9. ^ that is some serious porn, can't put that on the front page! How bout a person, like Len Brennon, Gordon or an article on Newman's Z racing career.
  10. Your logic is impeccable except for the fact that you were quoting Luvemfast NOT xa1973.
  11. Thanks Gavin. I in no way condone breaking the law as it pertains to speeding or reckless driving endangering life.
  12. Growing up the school yard was either Holden or Ford, like a footy team you had to choose a side. So I chose Japan. After seeing how the Holden and Ford kids treated each other under the guise of manufacturer allegiance with no real automotive knowledge, I decided that there must be another option. Sure both Holden and Ford kids ripped into me but I didn't care coz I wasn't the clueless lemming. Later I learnt what driving really was (not just 1/4 mile speed). So now that I had broken free of the Holden v Ford stupidity I could see so much more in other makes and models. Eventually I found the Z Every time I meet a car enthusiast that has made automotive engineering (mechanic) their life they comment on their appreciation of the Z. Anyone who insults the Z (or any other car that isn't a Holden/Ford) is ignorant and need to be allowed to sit in the drivers seat.
  13. Sounds similar to the problem that I am currently having which has been too much play in the points distributor.
  14. Mole Creek to Cradle Mountain.
  15. You may like them for the scenery or destination, but I like them for the twists and turns and changes in elevation all without breaking the law. My favourite stretch of road is the Chum Creek Rd between Chum creek and Toolangi. Heading north this road snakes it's way up the mountain with a seemingly endless series of 2nd and 3rd gear corners connected by short straights and two hairpins. If you can do the speed limit (100km) up (or down) this road you will be seconds from flying through the pearly gates backwards in a blaze of fire. You know a road is fun when there are warning signs for motorcyclists. So what are some of your favourites?
