  3. fellas does anyone have a indicator stalk & column assembly for a 240. I cant indicate to the right !!! I went to the auto electrican today and we both agreed that the inards of the mechanism are a bit iffy...I took the shroud off this arvo and its got me stumped as it feels fine when you flick the stalk..The left side indicators work fine. Its been playing up for a month and decided to die on me in traffic. need help asap !! chris
  4. I was wondering if there are any Canberra (& surrounds) zedders who would like to arrange a regular cruise-run &/or sunday arvo get together ..I know Sco-Aus (scott) is from around my area, are there any others about ? Perhaps a run upto the Brindabella ranges ? Chris
  5. Atticus I think you can do better...if you can take your respray budget & add it to the purchase price your getting close to $10k...why not look for a better car around the $10k mark..do the sums ! Also why black ...black is crap. Black will eventually de-value the car. Chris
  6. to the mystery person who took the pics on sunday.....WELL DONE !! ...Curse my missus for not giving me a leave pass..
  7. Steve I replaced my original hitachi carbs for my L24 about a month ago with new "pommy" su's. I had trouble finding a carbie kit for the hitachis, when I did it was around $130 per kit + labour to install & re-tune. They work great as my motor is stock. Ive left the original orange oval cleaner in place for the moment, but will replace it the next few weeks with pair of a ram-flow domes & socks. I still wanted the engine bay to look as original as "practicle" I just got the shits with the hitachis....and 2nd hand carbies alltogether. I dont recommend triples. The carbs cost me $730 for the pair incl new linkages. Performance Plus in Queanbeyan did the work. Ive stored the Hitachi's away (for originality sake !)
  8. Im waiting on final ministerial approval from my wife so I can attend. Its a 500km round trip for me , but hopefully worth it.
  9. Hi I was just wondering if anyone was interested in checking out the Sydney zedclub concourse next weekend (16th?) at Peakhurst (just off the M5 west of King Georges Rd)..Im in Canberra. Im fairly sure its still on. Chris
  10. The Brown zed with the addidas stripes is awesome...apart for the brown & the stripes. Never did like that bronze brown.
  11. The green one just sold for $22,000. I reckon the orange one will go for more , damn nice 240..
  12. anyone seen the dark green & the orange 240's currently on ebay ? The green 240 is hovering around the $19k mark with 1 day left to bid..not a bad effort for an 85% orginal car.. The orange Brissy car starts at $15,500, but has over a week to go..Both nice clean cars. Im curious, is 20k about the mark for a clean 240 ? or is it just a case of ebay "happy"..any thoughts
  13. The zed that I recall was a flat plumb-purple, definetely not metallic. I might flick thru some old family albulms to see if that car makes an appearance !
  14. I recall my old neighbour in Canberra buying a 240z new..I also recall it was plum-purple in colour..Ive yet to this day ever see this colour on another Zed. Does anyone know of, or has seen another zed with this colour. Im just Curious. Chris
  15. hey, you wouldnt know someone that has some standard 14" steelies capable of taking the 73 model full dish hubcaps ?
  16. sco_aus Im in Waramanga, my best mate lives in monash, would love to check our your zed.. or, maybe not...I might get too many rebuild ideas, and the wife would castrate me..
  17. Nevermind......I worked it out....
  18. fellas, after I click on "insert image" icon,do I cut/paste from my directory ?
  19. the car is light silver. It hadnt been registered for about 5 years. Are you talking about a dark grey 240 with 5 slot rims that was for sale about 4-5 months ago ? The one that I bought few people knew about.
  20. Just thought Id say hello...I bought a 240 about 3 weeks ago, pretty much unmolested , matching numbers, rust free Canberra car. The car wasnt for sale but a fair price was negotiated. Im looking to bring it up to original specs. I went to sydney and looked at an early numbered Mustard 240 that was on ebay about 3 weeks ago, I could have bought it for $4000 on the spot but declined because of the extensive rust. The bloody thing sold for $6950 ..rust & all ! Has the world gone mad or are basic & cruddy 240's fetching that sort of money !
