  1. nah like these babies. actual clear indicators lenses to suit 260z http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Datsun-260z-280z-clear-tail-lights-lenses-1974-1978_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZ72Q3a1205Q7c66Q3a2Q7c65Q3a12Q7c39Q3a1Q7c240Q3a1318Q7c301Q3a1Q7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a50QQ_trksidZp3286Q2ec0Q2em14QQhashZitem5d24d09d59QQitemZ400049610073QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories
  2. I would delete the reverse lights but run both reverse and indicator bulbs through a clear indicator lense if that makes sense it does in my head
  3. Id like my zeds bum to look like this maybe in the future 280yz flares Dual exhaust Flush one piece taillight panel Reverse lights removed Maybe clear indicator lenses- to run both indicator and reverse lights
  4. hmm my 2+2 tailights didnt fit on my 2 seater and vice virsa.....
  5. If i had my way i would want 280yz rear quarters (grey car) Subtle z front quarters (grey car) and this front spoiler
  6. yeah i know its a zx i just think its cool way to do front idicators. btw im in thailand now. what do you think it can buy here cheap for the car? Im thinking about getting the hilux calipers new here and getting my interior done
  7. Well with all this work it now means the back half of the car is nearly done. I also did some work on the front spoiler also. I got given an old broken one with some parts off a friend and decided to muck around with it. I started with a broken version of this. I fixed the breaks and filling the ducts. Then i chopped a section of the middle part of the spoiler out. This made made the section under the bumper bigger to match the section above the bumper. i cut it inline with the bottem of the indicators similar to the MSA type 2 bumper..i think Original Photoshop My attempt so far Next i want to recess those indicators as they stick out so much or even...a well placed flexible LED.Then i can delete the indicators as well to match the smoothed look of the rest of the body. Link to the hybridz page for those interested http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=147045
  8. Also cause i removed the side fuel filler i need to put the new one behind the number plate. There wasnt a flat section to mount my new filler to so i had to weld in some new metal for a base Next i worked on fitting my flares. gave me a lot of trouble with the rears actually. I think these arent good versions of the zg's. They seem to have been trimmed a bit on each end making a square finish instead of a round finish. I dont mind that is just that it makes them shorter so i have to mount them i bit higher i found out hours later. but they look great in the end
  9. Ok so its been a long time since i updated this. Done a bit of welding but ive been really pushed for time. I, sadly, have to pause this project now as im going to live overseas in thailand for a year . But i though i would show some more of the progress ive made. Well i finshed shaved the bum and the drip rails and i was very happy with the results. Next project was to weld up all the holes on the front bumper to smooth it out I also removed the grills from the front cowl. Goin for a more sleek modern aspects to some of the car while remaining some of the classic lines. First i cut them out Then i shaped the metal and held them in with these welding clips- bloody fantastic clips, improved my final product out of site. less weld to remove and less panel mis-alignment Tack welded then full welded then grind Next i did a bit of rust in the rear right hand flank Tacked Grinded and cleaned up Then i hit some rust up in the RH rear sill
  10. Hah i could def weld them on and bog it up but i dont think it could cut and shape the guard down to what it needs to be. but def a beautiful car indeed!
  11. Which size lip would look best do people think? i think the medium sized ones are a good compromise and practical to make and make look good but the big ones have a certain flare pardon the pun
  12. There is a guy onn hybridz that has doen this with vw flares. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2939350 Look great but beyond my metal skills atm. I want bigger lips on my zgs no a wider zg, can order them of hybridz.
  13. Yeah i would def bog over the holes and maybe blend it into the body. I was thinking about it last nite and the only prob i can think of is that the wider lips at the bottem of the flares wont flow into the old wheel arch lines..if you know what i mean.
  14. Hello I'm currently fitting some zg flares to my car atm and i was also looking at some pics of the new 370z wide body. i really like the way that the flare have a big lip on the edge like most modern cars and started to wonder if it would look good on my zg's. Here is the 370z pic And a few bad photo shop ideas of the zg with a lip. Tell me what you think? Standard small lip Medium lip Big arse lip
  15. Looking great i love this idea if these mazda lights dont work out supra tallights look quite good also

  17. Hi all I recently bought a 10 piece templet set from a closing down auto carpet shop and a big roll of thick grey carpet. I had enough to do my car and make another set . Its a 10 piece set with the cargo area as well. The kit allows heaps of overlap and i was generous in my cutting. The carpet is really thick auto/marine carpet with a short grain. I'm chasing $150 which is resonable with the cargo mat. Im located in perth so i would prefere pickup cause postage would be exspensive i think. 0422 700 254 or PM me but i might take a while to reply Andrew
  18. yeah i had the impression that it was too high. i will just keep trying and not cut till im really happy with it. i will see if i can borrow a set to compare. cheers sulio
  19. i got mine throught rare spares at 275 a piece and they seem to be good qualitly. will see when ive fit them but ive lost my sand blasting gun dammit
  20. Hi So ive got me a set of zg flares and some beautiful wheels to match. Ive read the great write up by Austin Hoke and some of the posts made by people here aswell. Made sure ive got the fronts and rears on the right way and the left and the right on the right way. BUT.... i still cant make the rears fit 100% flush. The front of the rear flare fits well because it can only go in one spot but i cant sem to make the back part of the rear flare fit well. Coupla questions: Do the bottoms edges of the rear flares have to be at the same height ? On some cars they are and on other theyre not Mine? Too high in the rear? Does the rear edge of the rear flares fit flush to the body? cause mine always leaves a gap between the body and the flare created by the buldge of where the bolt goes. doesnt matter if i fit it higher or lower. Should i dent the body to make a depression for the bolt depression in the flare? Gap wont go away with bolt depression there Anyone done this is perth. I could use a hand and beer will be provided
  21. Hi all. I'm doing the door skins on my car and im chasing any tips or ideas that are specific to zeds. Ive done the tafe panel course and ive found a really good sticky for a mustang doors but any other tips will be appreciated.
  22. This is the end product i'm chasing. Did a photoshop of it. Not bad for my first photoshop eh?
  23. Im hoping mine wont be too different from this photoshop i did.
  24. ha ha i should because i have like 3 styles of mirrors for it and the same again in side indicators.
  25. ha ha yeah tell me about it. it was a waste of cash and now im stuck with a purple excel bumper as a reminder!
