  1. Thanks again guys for the info, its good to get some clarification on things.
  2. Thanks for the input So far the the zed has been running good, just takes a long time for it to come off the choke before it will idle well. My 240 felt like it had a lot more go. Seems like triples then are totally out How far would you need to go to get a basic hot set up to put triples on. Would you need to throw in an l28 and bore it out etc etc Still wanting to keep the car as a daily driver and keeping it practicle..
  3. Gday All I have a 260z that has the flat top or English SUs, if thats correct, but they are not the best carbies compared to my 240z, with Hitachi round top carbies. I am wondering if I change them to 240 carbies or if its worth trying out triple carbies. Which is always been a dream of mine. Secondly if to put triple carbies, would I need to do any other major engine modifications to really get the best out of the carbies. I just run a standard l26 with extractors. If not, can I do bits and pieces like just adding a heavier cam as well?? Overall I like to keep things relatively basic and not get too carried away. Thanks
  4. Thanks for the help
  5. G'day everyone, I am interested in what seat came in which model zed? I have a Datsun 240z '71 model and very keen to re-due the seats soon. The problem is that I think I have got 260 seats due to leavers to recline the seat back. From my knowledge I can see that early models had a rotating dial thing to recline the seat backs If anyone can help clarify what type of seat is correct would be very helpful. Thanks Steve
  6. wish i was going, got no zed that drives at the moment. Otherwise would be there in a heart beat. Have fun rain hail or shine

    Original Colours

Thanks, that gives me a great hand in finding the orginal colours..
  8. Gday.. Interested in the orginal colours that 260 zeds came out with when sold from the show room floors and the trim colours that went with the appropriate exterior colour. Thanks
  9. Tried to get there.. couldnt find you guys, but was running way late...
  10. I will make a showing  be good to see some zeds
  11. The whole electrical system is temperamental occasionally.. Sometimes turning off the high beams that will occur, but it has only happened to me 2 or 3 times. I need to rise the headlights, which I have done, just need to keep fiddling with them to get them right. The zed has also had a previous accident to the front left, which makes it hard to simply take the LHD headlight out or even adjusting them. Secondly the tacho would drop out while driving. this used to happen a lot especially on a hot day for some reason. I have changed the fuses, but i think the contacts have been bent too much, so its a delicate matter. So far it hasn?t happened again, but eventually may need a new fuse box.
  12. I know were you come from with the need for proper headlights.. Country driving which I do a lot of at night time, i scare my girlfriend when i dip my high beams and your trying to find the white lines on the road to stay on the bloody thing. Especially with on coming traffic.! They look real good.
