Administrators gav240z Posted January 6, 2014 Administrators Posted January 6, 2014 Hi Everyone, If you are looking at buying a car from abroad such as an S30 Z from the US of A (think of those dry states!) or Japan I can recommend dealing with Iron Lady Imports as part of the importation process. http://ironladyimports.com/ Craig at Iron Lady Imports helped me through a long and arduous process of filing in multiple items of paper work and dealing with shipping companies, insurance companies, customs officials, compliance etc.. for my FD RX-7 which I'm happy to say has now been with me in Sydney for a couple of months and arrived unscathed during the whole process. Before you import a vehicle it helps to get a quote from Craig on what the expected costs for a specific make and model would be. You'll also need import approval to bring a car in, so make sure it falls under the relevant importation scheme before purchasing. Quote
cracker Posted January 6, 2014 Posted January 6, 2014 I've also dealt with Kristian at Iron Chef (Jap imports section and business owner) a few years ago. Recommend him and the company - very good at what they do. James Quote
Triptych Posted January 7, 2014 Posted January 7, 2014 Iron Lady imports is tied in with Kristian at iron chef if I remember correctly. If it is tied in you can't go wrong as Kristian is a great guy to deal with and will help out in anyway. Don't know if the good old HPI magazines are still kicking but he alway use to write an article on importing in each issue. Quote

cracker Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Yes, sorry, I didn't really word that well at all. I was definitely referring to Kristian Appelt who imported a v35 for me a while back. Iron Chef imports are the Japanese (and original) arm of the business, which now includes Iron Lady (UK imports) and Iron Block (US imports). All would be a very good place to seek advice and service if you are considering importing from the various parts of the world. James Quote
