Hello Z Owners. My name is Mark Clapp and I'm from Kansas City, Missouri U.S.A. I'm an individual and have been making plexiglass parts for over eight years now.  I own a GT40 replica and started out by making headlight covers and windows for it.  I make pieces for just about every replica and vintage race car out there. I supply several replica manufacturers and restoration shops that restore original GT40s and Jaguars. I recently started making the headlight covers for the 240/260/280Z G-nose cars. I will post more info on them in the Classifieds section, but wanted to say Hi first. I've attached a picture of my GT replica.

Hi Alan, I could make the windows, which would save a ton of weight over the glass.  I will see if I can borrow some locally to make patterns from.

Ok, you can do the plexis for G nose front end Z cars. How much??

 

Can you do a plexi cover , moulded, for the standard 240/260/280 Z? And, how much??

 

Have you shipped items to Australia, and what cost is involved for shipping.

Hi dat2kman, I'm asking $189USD/pair for the G-nose headlight covers. Please see my ad in the Classifieds section under Parts and Tools for Sale where I have details of the plastic and pictures of the covers.  I just shipped a set to a ZG owner there in Aus (Redrbzed on this forum) for $30USD so a total is $219USD. We did the order using my Paypal address: mclapp1@att.net  I'm sorry but I tried to form the standard headlight covers and was not successful as they need to be vacuum formed, which I do not do currently.

Welcome.  Very nice GT40 you have there.  I think quite a few people would be interested in plexiglass window replacements if they were at the right price.  Unfortunately in Australia, more often than not, it is cheaper to source these things internationally than local.

It's a shame you can't do the standard headlight covers, I really want a set with the chrome trim but apparently the factory ones are not great quality.

If you could make a set that mount better than the OEM ones and have a nice high quality chrome trim I think you would do well, but then again lots of people often express interest but don't follow through.
