Stivva Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I have been looking for a factory radio as per my wanted AD, but have come across some 1600 radios. I know the faceplate is different (and replaceable) but can I use a 1600 radio? Are these the same or similar enough to pass? What other options are out there? Quote
Agno Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 I went googling and couldn't find anything. If they are a hitachi radio you are half way there, if you have a model number I might be able to help you out too. Quote
Stivva Posted August 6, 2012 Author Posted August 6, 2012 Unfortunately, no model number as I am just ebaying. Quote
Scoota G Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Got one here from an 82 Bluebird. It's a phillips model and has the datsun logo on the front. Quote

I have a KM-1420ZD which came with a 240Z faceplate and 240Z manuals. I think it depends on the region and spec list of the cars sold there at the time. Quote
Stivva Posted August 14, 2012 Author Posted August 14, 2012 Could be??? Who's is this? I also have the option of this: One is a 260z radio and one is a 280z radio Obviously I would have to create a match of the 260z radio with 280z knobs and faceplate... But I also have to purchase from the states. Quote
Agno Posted August 14, 2012 Posted August 14, 2012 I bought a radio from the states and it was damaged in transit. Either make sure they wrap it really good (especially around the adjustment knobs) or look a bit harder for something locally. Quote
chris240 Posted August 19, 2012 Posted August 19, 2012 The one in the pic above looks suspiciously like the one in my old 83 bluebird.....at least it has FM ! I recal I replaced it with a Craig stereo....now lets see how many people remember the Craig units Quote
