Electronic ignition conversion

Hello All,

 

Just a quick question are the electronic ignition conversion kits that replace the points in a normal dizzy as good as the 280z upgrade option.

 

Theres a few kits around and one on ebay that fit inside the dizzy cap.

Yea they are great and in a lot of cases i will say superior as the old 280ZX base plates for the vacuum advance are very fragile. I fitted a set to a Jag and it improved it heaps.

 

Pertronix is a common kit just don't go down to Bursons and ask for it, they'll have no idea what you're on about.

Ye.. I ended up going with the kit too after wasting money on a 280zx dizzy that was in poor condition.. If your dizzy is in good nick I would go that way

Another +1 for Pertronix unit. Works a treat. Not long ago you could pick them up on evil-bay for a pretty decent price (what with the dollar being the way it is).

Yep.. That's the one. Just make sure that you have a single point distributor..
