Hi guys,

I'm chasing some S12W Hilux front calipers to do the Hilux front brake conversion. They can be new, used, rebuilt or whatever I just want them! If you happen to have appropriate disks to suit this would be an added bonus. Located in Melbourne.

Cheers, Alex

You must be Noah's Ark of go fast Zed bits because you always seem to have the bits everyone wants :P

Let me know how you go!

My bad, the ones i have are to suit the vented rotor, ie throat width is 23 mm, they are marked s13-8, off a 60 series toyota.

Sumitomo had different code stamps on them depending on caliper spec and fitment.

I'm just hanging onto them in the faint desire if ever i go tarmac instead of sticking to circuit, as the vented rotor is easy to set up

Whatever the DBA pad number is, get some Lucas TRW pads, they are the ducks guts, i use them on one of my race cars, they work, and best of all, they are jolly cheap!

Thanks for the responses guys. I managed to get a pair of S12-8 vented calipers from a mate wrecking his 4runner so I'll be using them. Time to grab some pads, disks and rebuild kits and have some fun!

Alex, can you measure the throat width of those ones?

What thickness discs on the 4Runner ( approx guess??)

The ones i have here have a gap of 23 mm, but you couldnt put a 23 mm thick rotor in there,  hence the use of the 19? Or 20? Mm thick Peugot disc as mentioned before in the Hilux thread.

Be interested to know!

Well would you know it? I just measured them before!

Mine measure 23mm wide as well. I pulled them off a ln60 4runner with vented rotors, which have a disk thickness of 20mm new according to the DBA catalogue. I'm thinking that (pending price) when I get the calipers blasted I will get the throat widened a few mm to accommodate larger disks from an S13 silvia or something else that would be easy to get and 4 stud.

Spacer plate thingys with O rings and longer bolts, maybe use hi tensile shanked capscrews?

I fitted some S13 sylvia rotors on a car a while back, used a different car 4 piston caliper(ovlov 244!) but rather than machine out the throat/muck around with spacets etc, we just had a on car disc brake machine guy take 1 mm off each side to give us enuf clearance into the caliper.

Not an issue with S13 sylvia rotors, plenty meat and good centre vane support, plus it will be two months before hell freezes over before rotors are too thin.

Its on a road reg Datsun Sports 2000!.

Those Peugot 505 rotors dont start life awfully thick!!! What 19 mm?
