DARK RINGLEADER Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Hello fellas. 1st post here, hope you don't mind it's in General Discussion...I didn't see a intro section unless I missed it. Well my name is Jordan and I'm from California and 18 years old, and well....love cars! I am a die hard v8 guy, but yet like the old school imports (240z, 510, old skyline) etc etc. Just joined cause I recently had an idea of swapping a ford 331 carb'd into a 240z that needs some love. I must say I think the 1970-1973 (I think) is the sexiest car ever built. Some of you might say 'Ford sucks'! Well I got the idea from my car which is a 1995 Cobra 5.0. Which I love, so my dream build is a 331ci 240z. Here is my car if anyone is interested in a lil ol' ford I hope to learn much from you guys...so teach me!!! Quote

620Z Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Welcome to the site. I am one of the few guys on this site with a V8 in my 260Z. I have had it for over 10 years and it's been a labour of love to get it where it is today. I think a Chav is slimmer than the Ford engin hence will fit in better. But I am pretty sure the ford will fit. You can check out come pictures of my car on this site if you like or I can give you more or some advise if you need it. Go for it. It's getting cold over here so you guys must be coming into your summer. California is an awesome town and I just love that Venice beach. Cheers. Quote
24OZ Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 i have a 240z that has a windsor V8(since 1984),very light compact motor, plenty of room, stroker kits to take it to 347cu.in cheap in your part of the world, alloy heads work wonders just remember that a repowered Z requires better brakes though  other than that they are the perfect street car combination Quote
sco_aus Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Welcome. I reckon you should put a 350 Chev 400 motor in it, that'd be awsome. Look forward to seeing it all. Quote

24OZ Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 love the flutes you have in the front quarters looks like it came from the factory. thanks man, i would love to take credit for them but i bought the car as is,gtr(old school that is,lc/j torana ) items i beleive, you used to be able to buy them as a graft-in panel back in the day, probably still can at somewhere like rare spares, would be an easy addition with a mig later Quote
zedevan Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 i reakon these would look awesome grafted into the side, pretty similar to whats on the side of a db9 etc, if only they weren't so expensive...i wonder if the vz ones like craig's have come down a bit now..ohwell off topic Quote
modular9 Posted June 8, 2007 Posted June 8, 2007 gonna add the flutes to my mod list i think. I know you can still get the flutes from rarespares. then i'll have to get some good brakes so i got a point to having 'em Quote
